The Objective of OUR Project

Needs of the community: Homeless - access to food and clothes

Components of our shipping container that fit the need: to store clothing, food
and water, job application, and donations.
Why Are We Designing This

1. In Sacramento County, overall homelessness, including people who are sheltered and
unsheltered, increased 67% since 2019 to about 9,278 individuals in 2022.

2. Sacramento’s homeless population has increased drastically and with no solution in sight. Our
team has decided to take action and support the homeless community. The homeless have
limited resources and with the already rising heat and bitter cold, being homeless in sacramento
has never been harder. Our project is to use mobile crates to support homeless people with
food and clothes in order to for them to have better living conditions.
Describe the basic function for each shipping
container
The idea for our project is to have
2 containers lined up together in
a single file line. The first
container will be used for
receiving clothes from people and
giving clothes to the homeless.
The other one will be used to give
out snacks and water to the
homeless. There will also be a
trash bin and recycling bins
located outside of the crates
