1. Purpose
When the machine sent to customer, we have to instruct the installation process for servo
motor assemble and absolute position calibration.

2. Scope
MITSUBISHI M720CE, M730CE, M730XP Controller (dog type and non-dog type)

5. Content：

When execute Absolute Position Setting, you have to perform the contents individually that
described as below; set all axes in the same time are not allowed.

5.1 Installation for servo motor

5.1.1 Install the servo motor to the stand.
5.1.2 Connection for the power cable of servo motor and the joint of feedback cable.
5.1.3 Depend the indicate symbol, and focus to right position for coupling.

5.2 When machine is non-Dog type

5.2.1 Turn on the machine，press the MAINTE key, select [ ] soft key→ press [ NEXT ]

button for several times until a soft key [ ] appears on the screen.

5.2.2 Press this soft key to enter below screen.

5.2.3 Change #2049=0 (the password is “M-P-A-R-A”), turn off the machine.
5.2.4 Turn on the machine, move the axis to the indicate symbol “0” by using MPG.

5.2.5 Repeat the section 2.1 to 2.2 to find out #2049, then change #2049=2, turn off the
machine.
5.2.6 Turn on the machine, alarm “Z70 Abs posn base set incomplete” appears in the bottom of
the screen.

5.2.7 Press the MAINTE key, select [ ] soft key→ press [ ] button for password input.
(the password is “M-P-A-R-A”)

5.2.8 Press [ ], set the value of item No.0(Absolute posn set) and No.1(Origin-P) to 1 in
order.
★The value of item No.2(Zero-P) must be 0.

5.2.9 The mode selector change to「HANDLE」mode, move the table by rotating the MPG, make
the value of “Machine posn” equal “Machine end”, if the job was done, the “State” item will
appear “Complete”.

5.2.10 Pressing「Axis select」soft key to select which axis you want to set, or change to next
axis by pressing「Next axis」.
5.2.11 Reboot the machine after finish the setting.

5.3 When machine is Dog type

5.3.1 Refer to the section 2.1. to 2.2., Change #2049=0 (the password is “M-P-A-R-A”), turn off
the machine.
5.3.2 Turn on the machine, the mode selector change to「HANDLE」, move the axis to safety
position by using the MPG in negative direction. Set #2049=3, then turn off the machine.
5.3.3 Turn on the machine, alarm “Z70 Abs posn base set incomplete” appears in the bottom of
the screen.
5.3.4 The mode selector change to「ZRN」, press the axis direction key of “+” direction, the axis
will keep moving along plus direction, and it will stop when the limit switch touches the dog,
the LCD of zero return finished will light on. The zero return and the setting of absolute
value were accomplished.
