Kalyenderia: A Feeding
Program for Street
Children

A Project Proposal of

I. TITLE OF THE PROJECT
Program Title: Kalyenderia: A Feeding Program for Street Children
Program Description: Feeding Program for Street Children at
Downtown, Tacloban City
Schedule and Duration: Should be done every twice a year – first
day of the month (March and September)
Venue: Downtown Area, Tacloban City
Target Participants: Randomly Street Children
Rationale:
In the 1st Sustainable Development Goals, Zero Hunger is about
creating a world free of hunger by 2030. The number of people going
hungry and suffering from food insecurity had been gradually rising
even before up until now the onset of the COVID – 19 pandemic.
Many had suffered and could not even afford to buy healthy foods
which caused by the COVID – 19 crisis or even not the pandemic
itself.
Feeding Program is one of the ways to achieve Zero Hunger. It
is an activity that assists malnourished children or even homeless
persons to improve their health situation and promote healthy lifestyle
and making them physically fit. The said activity is compromised
into: HEALTH ASSESSMENT, LECTURE PROMOTING
HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, FEEDING AND EVALUATION.
This feeding program is sponsored by the Local Government
Unit (LGU) and with the coordination of Department of Social
Welfare and Development (DSWD), which requested by the EVSU –
Students to conduct the said activity. The LGU or DSWD will
shoulder all the expenses of the activity.
General Objectives: To end hunger and ensure access by all people,
in particular the poor and people
Specific Objectives:
At the end of the Kalyenderia Feeding Program, the participants
should be able to;
1. Assess the malnourished street children of Downtown Area,
Tacloban City by the government.
2. Access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food year – round.
3. Feed the street children with chopseuy and fish, sopas, arizcaldo
and wheat – free pastries.
4. Promote a healthy lifestyle and a healthful diet.

II. RECEPIENTS
Description of Participants: Randomly street children specifically in
Downtown Area
Target Participants: Randomly street children
III. MECHANICS OF IMPLEMENTATION
Implementers: EVSU – Students and Local Government Unit
Place: Downtown Area, Tacloban City
Specific Activities to be undertaken:
 Lecture Promoting Healthy Lifestyle (8:00 am – 10:00 am)
 Feeding (Breakfast, Morning Snack, Lunch and Afternoon
Snack)

Expected Output: Zero hunger and achieve healthy lifestyle
