Important characters:

Macbeth: Thane of Glamis, leads Scottish troops to victory, kills King Duncan and is appointed as
king. Main character tries to fight against corruption and murders lead by the throne

Lady Macbeth: Macbeth’s wife, encourages the murder of King Duncan. She’s plagued by guilt and
kills herself.

The Witches: Sister who have supernatural powers, deliver prophecies to Macbeth and Banquo.
Cast spells and cause problems for people in local areas.

Banquo: Friend of Macbeth, leads Scottish troops to victory, he suspects of him after the
prophecies, is killed by orders of Macbeth, his ghost haunts him.

Macduff: Thane of Fife, Suspects Macbeth for killing King Duncan, revenges the dead of his family
by killing Macbeth.
