The purpose of this article is to examine the factors that contribute to the propagation of fake
news and their influence on society. Irresponsible parties spreading fake news can lead to
major and serious problem. The dissemination of fake news, particularly about Covid-19, can
be perplexing and lead to disagreements among netizens. Everything from public health to
the economy has been impacted by fake news. A person’s decision, and culture are all
factors. The dissemination of fake news by irresponsible parties is extremely inappropriate
since it has a harmful influence on society. Some people’s mentality of making and spreading
assumptions will lead to more complicated situations. The news that spreads on social media
can increase people’s concern while also casting a negative light on the entire national
leadership. In this digital age, information that is readily available is one of the elements that
contribute to the spread of fake news among Malaysians. People in this country are said to be
less aware of the dangers of fake news in their daily lives, and they love spreading without
checking. On of the reasons for this is that they are easily persuaded by whatever they read.
At the same time, anything that is bribed makes the reader too indolent. The propagation of
false information regarding Covid-19 is thought to have a significant emotional impact. The
fight to combat fake news is far from over, and the public must be taught on a daily basis
through multiple channels such as social media and traditional madia in the country.

Some solutions to handle the spread of fake news on social media:

First, Develop your curiosity all the time, don’t immediately spread a news without checking
the truth. We gain a lot from being more inquisitive or corious. Meanwhile, today’s education
does little no prevent people’s thinking from being open. In fact, scientifically proven
curiosity can open a more open mind. So you are not blind to just one ideology. In reading
information, of course, we have to think logically and critically so that we don’t swallow the
information raw. We have to foind out whether the information we get is valid or it could be
a hoax. Being critical is very important for us when get the latest news and information. My
second suggestion is check news source. Checking for true and factual news sources is
another technique to deal with fake news. We cand checsk the source of the new we’re
reading, whether it comes from actors in mass organizations, observes, political personalities,
or unofficial websites, we shouldn’t trust it. We can also compare the news we read with
different news sources. We can’t just read news from one source, we also have to compare it
with other sources in order to know whether the news is true or not. My last suggestion is to
avoid provocative titles. Generally, hoax news that is spread through the mass media has a
title that attracts the attention of many people. The title on the news looks sensational and
provocative which immediately corners certain parties. The content of the news will be
axaggerated so that readers believe what is being reported. This will make the real this
happen covered with fake news.
