Task 9
Number 1
• An observation was made for two days. If on the first day, 31 samples
were obtained with a standard deviation of 5. Meanwhile, on the
second day, 25 samples were obtained with a standard deviation of 3.
If the observer says that the first and second days have the same
varieties, determine whether the statement is true or not. Use a
significance level of 2%!
Number 2
• A store got 500 orders in 2021. Based on the data provided, the store
owner wants to test whether the number of orders is a random
variable with a Poisson spread of μ=3. Help the shop owner solve the
problem. Use α=0.1!

• The Central Bureau of Statistics wants to know the public's response
to the recent rise in cases of Covid-19 variants by size: not worrying,
worrying enough, worrying, and very worried. If a survey of 1000
residents from 4 cities is carried out. Determine whether the level of
concern of the population and the location of residence influence
each other? Use α=0.1!

• Poisson's PMF value comes
from Ms. Excel's calculation
for the Poisson distribution
"POISSON.DIST(x,mean,false)"
with μ=3 or based on
available tables.
• If 𝑒𝑖 < 5, it is necessary to add
the value of the nearby 𝑒𝑖
until the value is at least 5.
Number 2
• Since there are 𝑒𝑖 combined, the degree of
freedom is reduced from:
ν = 13 − 1 = 12 → ν = 8 − 1 = 𝟕
• 𝛼 = 0.1
• χ2α = χ20.1 = 12.017
• Because χ2 = 1526.6751>χ2α = χ20.1 = 12.017,
then 𝐻0 is rejected, i.e. that random variables
aren't following Poisson's distribution.
