ACKNOWLEDGMENT
take the opportunity to offer a sincere graduate to my guide SR. NORAZURA BINTI MIZAL AZZMI
Laboratory lecture in Laboratory Experiment of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of
Materials subject for her kind support in completion of this Lab Practicals and Lab Report in a
very successful manner. And also, I wish to thank you for teaching how to do these practicals
easily.
I would also like to give special thanks to my friends Cristiano Ernest Anak Robin, Putri Nurinsyira Binti
Mohd Idris, Muhammad Adib, Adam Bin Hishamudi, and Muhammad Adam Haiqal for letting my defense
be an enjoyable moment, and for your brilliant comments and suggestions, thanks to you
Finally, I would like to thank Allah, for letting me through all the difficulties. I have experienced your
guidance day by day. You are the one who let me finish my lab report.
OBJECTIVE
The experiment cube test ( 1:2:4 ) is to determine the effects on density and compressive strength of
using a variety of fine and coarse aggregates for the concrete cubes.

PROCEDURE
1. The mold used in the cube test must be cleaned internally using a wire brush. Because remove
any residual particles from the previous concrete test.
2. The inner surface of the installed mold should be thinly coated grease to prevent concrete
adhesion.
3. The mixed concrete is poured with a certain proportion of the mixture into the mold in 3 layers
and each layer must be compacted 35 times using compacting steel rods. The mold is filled to
overflowing and level the surface using a hand float.
P a g e 7 | 15
4. The concrete mix cube is left for 24 hours to set.
5. The above steps should be repeated for 3 more cubes with the same mixture proportion.
6. The mixing date is recorded for each cube and all 3 cubes are soaked in a tank filled with water
so that the cube is always moist for on the 7th day.
7. After 7 day-, When the cube has fully matured it should be weighed and
recorded.
P a g e 8 | 15
8. The cube is placed to be tested on the center plate of the compression machine. Both of them
the plate is in contact with the bottom surface of the concrete plate and it is ensured
by them. The load value is released to raise the bottom plate up to the cube
touch the plate above. The maximum load that will crush the tested cube is
recorded
9. The above steps are repeated using the other cube. Accordingly, the result is
recorded by him

RESULT
CALCULATION
Mass of cement
= 1/7 x 17.28 = 2.47
Mass of sand
=2/7 x 17.20 = 4.94
Mass of aggregate
= 4/7 x 17.28 = 9.87
Mass of water
= 2.47 x 0.5 =1.24

ANALYSIS
The data taken got an error due to the mixture that is uncompletely compact
The mixture was too dry and less of water that cause the cube are easy to brittle

CONCLUSION
The concrete compressive strength test, often known as the cube test, is a depiction of the calibre of
concrete poured on a construction site, as we can see from this laboratory exercise. If the concrete
cubes do not develop the required strength, concrete can be repaired using a variety of methods, such
as grouting or injecting chemicals to reinforce the concrete.
