No.: MMENA-EHS-WP-02 | Rev.:01 Date: June 2015 Page: 3 of 5 1.0 Introduction This document describes the procedure to ensure Mercury MENA identifies, assesses and evaluates applicable legal and other requirements pertaining to the company’s undertakings, how legal requirements are communicated to key stake holders and ensures legal requirements are considered when developing the EHS Management System. 2.0 Legal Register ‘An up to date legal register is maintained using document no. MIMENA-EHS-FM-003. The legal register details Environmental, Health and Safety Legislation currently in force, findings from the Evaluation of Compliance process and Corrective and Preventive Actions from the evaluation of compliance process. ‘The legal register and more importantly the full legal requirement are considered when establishing the EHSMS and such operational controls as may be necessary to control the EHS risks of the business. 3.0 Communication of Legal Requirements The legal register and full legal requirements are made available to all personnel with IT access and is stored on project and office servers. The key components of legislation, particularly roles and responsibilities are communicated to all employees at the induction stage. Item topics within legislation are communicated to personnel and subcontractors via site specifically held toolbox talks. Personnel it luding contractors without access to the company IT Infrastructure can request a copy of any legislation through their EHS Advisor. 4.0 Register of Other Requirements Requirements placed on Mercury MENA from clients whi are not legislative requirements are contained in project specific Registers of Other Requirements using MMENA-EHS-FM-004, It is the responsibility of each project to ensure this register is maintained and is up to date at all times. No.: MMENA-EHS-WP-02 Rev.:01 Date: June 2015 Page: 4 of 5 5.0 Evaluation of Compliance for Legal Requirements Legal requirements are evaluated on an annual basis to ensure continued compliance. The evaluation of ‘compliance process is done through auditing and inspections of applicable areas of operation and is lead by the Regional QEHS Manager. The results of the evaluation of compliance process for legal requirements are recorded on the legal register MMENA-EHS-FM-003. 6.0 Evaluation of Compliance for Other Requirements Other requirements are evaluated on an annual basis to ensure continued compliance with the requirements, The evaluation process is done through assessing client audits, internal audits and through inspections and is lead by the site EHS team. ‘The results of the evaluation of other requirements process is recorded on MMENA-EHS-FM-004 Other Requirements Register. Non-conformance’s, Corrective and Preventive Actions following the evaluation of compliance process are dealt with in accordance with MMENA-EHS-WP-016 Nonconformance, Corrective and Preventive Action. 7.0 Periodic Review ‘The legal register shall be reviewed every 6 months to ensure it remains up to date.
