We are committed to helping you manage your new checking account and would like to answer some commonly

asked
questions.
When I make a deposit, when will my money be available?
• The following types of deposits will be immediately available for purchases or withdrawal under normal
circumstances:
o Electronic deposits (e.g., payroll or Social Security)
o Cash deposits made with a teller
o Wire transfers
o The first $225 from all other deposits made in a given business day
Business days are Monday through Friday except federal holidays. Note: U.S. Bank ATM cutoff is 8 p.m. local time
and Mobile Check cutoff is 9 p.m. central time.
• For accounts open 30 days or less: as a new checking account customer to U.S. Bank, a portion of your
deposit (other than the types of deposits listed as immediately available above) will generally be available on the
fifth business day following the business day of your deposit.
o For example, if you deposit a $500 check with a teller on Wednesday, you will receive access to $225
immediately and $275 on the following Wednesday.
• For accounts open more than 30 days: once your account has been open for more than 30 days, most
deposits (other than the types of deposits listed as immediately available above) will be available the next
business day.
o For example, if you deposit a $500 check with a teller on Monday, you will receive access to $225
immediately and $275 on Tuesday.
Are there any situations where my deposit may take longer to become available for withdrawal?
• For your protection, some types of deposited checks may have delayed availability. This may occur when you
deposit a large dollar amount or we have a reason to doubt the collectability of an item. We will notify you if this
occurs.
• If your deposit was made after ATM cutoff time.
• Checks deposited via the mobile app may be subject to different funds availability. Please refer to the Digital
Services Agreement at usbank.com or the mobile app for details.
What is the best way to keep track of my account and avoid a negative balance?
• Set up Account Alerts through usbank.com or the mobile app to be notified when your balance is low or negative.
Please be advised that these alerts may not be sent immediately.
• You can check your balance at most U.S. Bank ATMs, by visiting usbank.com, on the mobile app, by calling
24-Hour Banking at 800-USBANKS (872-2657) or contacting a banker at your local branch. We accept relay calls.
When checking your balance, you will be provided an Account Balance and Available Balance.
• Knowing your Available Balance at all times can prevent Overdraft Paid Fees.
What is the difference between my Account Balance and my Available Balance?
• Account Balance: This balance displays the funds in your account including deposits and withdrawals made to
date. Not all your transactions may be immediately reflected, therefore only part of this balance may be
available for withdrawal.
• Available Balance: This balance shows the funds in your account that are immediately available for purchases or
withdrawal. Items NOT reflected in your available balance include but are not limited to:
o Checks you wrote that have not been cashed
o Authorized automatic withdrawals (e.g., your monthly gym membership or car payment)
o Future payments scheduled through U.S. Bank Online Bill Pay
o Debit card authorizations that no longer appear as pending due to a delay in processing by the merchant
o Funds held from deposit(s)
For the complete terms and conditions for your new checking account, please refer to Your Deposit Account Agreement
and the Consumer Pricing Information disclosure. Thank you for choosing U.S. Bank. We sincerely appreciate your
business!
