Essay 1 Working from home

Most business takes place in an office environment. But nowadays, a growing number of remote
workers are quietly remaking the way we work and live.

Working remotely is a lot more comfortable for lots of people. There is no commuting back and
forth to work, so there is no waste of time in traffic congestion and their job satisfaction is not
affected by it.

Furthermore, working from home is less stressful with a flexible working schedule. Indeed, remote
workers can get their job done, regardless the time. It does not matter if it is early morning or late
at night.

Moreover, no one sees them, and no one judges them for their personality. This is healthier,
therefore it can increase their productivity.

Working from home currently trending in some industries and this comes along with the rapidly
advancing progress of technology, which allows people to communicate with their team or
supervisors all around the world.

To conclude, not every employees can work as remote workers. Some of them might prefer to
work in community or to be mentored by supervisors. Depending on your individual needs in the
particular period of your life you’re in, you might prefer one working style and then another.

I am graduate with 3 years experience in the field of marketing. My university degree in Business
Studies gave me an excellent combination of skills in sales, budgeting and much more.

Since I graduated, I have gained considerable practical know-how at a leading software house,
where I have been working with large and small companies, helping them to plan out and
implement media campaigns.

You will find me a friendly and reliable person. I’m hard working and I have a certain creative flair,
which I hope I can put to good use at Nintendo company.

Of all companies in the field, Nintendo is certainly the one that interests me most, simply because
it matches my own style and outlook. I grew up with Nintendo’s video game console. Moreover,
your recent campaign for the new Pokemon’s game was so original. I would love to bring my
skills, knowledge and passion to your organisation. I can make a positive contribution to the
future of Nintendo. Give me the chance and I will help develop new marketing strategies for your

SWOT analysis : Nintendo Company Ltd.

Nintendo was established in 1889 and it is a foundation of Japanese company. Its beginning idea
as to make handmade cards known as « hanafuda ». After an unsuccessful effort, they decided to
change the direction of the company and they got achievement in the interactive entertainment
structure and software industry.

Strengths :

- The main strength is the fact that Nintendo Company is truly global, it has a geographical
pressure in most corners of the world. Manufacturing is still primarily undertaking in Japan,
although distribution networks exit worldwide. It’s one of the leading gaming among all game
making companies in the world.

- Nintendo’s game console such as Nintendo DS or Nintendo Switch are ideal for travel as well
as a handy device to keep children entertained. Furthermore, the Wii is a family entertainment
device.

- The company has its own online store which allows distributing their products directly to
customers with the best after-purchase support.

- Nintendo has entered a partnership with Disney, which expanded their influence to a large
customer group of children but also adults too.

- Nintendo has not been afraid to innovate throughout its history. Various products such as the
Nintendo DS, the Wii/Wii U and the Switch have all brought something new to the gaming
industry.

Weaknesses :

- The margin of Nintendo’s per unit it’s very small. And due to this margin, the company are
facing financial difficulties.

- They have many suppliers around the globe and it’s very difficult for them to manage the supply
chain of these countries.

Opportunities :

- With the increased usage of games over smartphones, the scope for games are increasing
since the number of segments is growing. Nowadays, the gaming companies can target
anyone from young children to senior or aged people.

- Their gadgets are internet enabled and Wi-fi, if they continue making such gaming systems
they will increase their number of customers

Threats :

- High threat of substitutes : The growing trend of online and mobile gaming can be a threat for
Nintendo.

- The lack of diversification outside the video-games design filled.

- A general competition with Sony and Microsoft. Because these two companies are also in the
gaming industry, Sony with their Playstation 3 and Microsoft with their Xbox 360.

- They may face some more challengers fro the developing countries like India and China.
