However, there are a
lot of beneficial drugs that can be used, in specific doses, without regard to the renal functions !!
If the patient is adult and with normal liver, we can use the following drugs (if orally, as immediate release):
1) Drugs for Gastro-intestinal Diseases:
Nystatin oral suspension (can be used in normal dose).
Omeprazole, Esomeprazole, Pantoprazole, Lansoprazole & Rabeprazole (can be used in normal dose). Ondansetron (can be used in normal dose). Mebeverine (can be used in normal dose). Lactulose & Bisacodyl (can be used in normal dose). Loperamide (can be used in normal dose). Vaginal Nystatin or Clotrimazole (can be used in normal dose).
2) Drugs for Respiratory System:
Intra-nasal Sodium chloride (can be used in normal dose).
Acetyl-cysteine (can be used orally up to 600 mg/day). Codeine (can be used up to 15 mg three times daily). Salbutamol = Albuterol inhaler (can be used in normal dose). Dexamethasone (can be used in normal dose). Chlorpheniramine (can be used up to 4 mg twice daily). 3) Anti-bacterial Drugs:
Ceftriaxone (can be used up to 2000 mg/day).
Azithromycin (can be used up to 500 mg/day). Doxycycline (can be used in normal dose). Moxifloxacin (can be used in normal dose). Clindamycin (can be used in normal dose). Ornidazole (can be used in normal dose).
4) Analgesics & Antipyretics:
Paracetamol (if patient ≥ 50 kg, can be used as 500-1000 mg every 8 hours).
Tramadol, by a medical prescription, can be used as 50 mg every 12 hours.
5) Drugs for Skin (TOPICAL):
Fusidic acid (can be used in normal dose).
Clindamycin, Adapalene, Tretinoin, Tazarotene & Azelaic acid (can be used in normal dose). Ketoprofen is the topical NSAID with the least absorption from skin. Nystatin, Miconazole & Ketoconazole (can be used in normal dose).
