ADP The project implemented the environmental and social management plan including
improvements in emergency response facilities at Sawla hospital.
The expected outcomes include improved the skills, knowledge and capacity in transport issues,
and improved response to road safety emergencies
Parallel with project implementation the financer also provided capacity building and social
infrastructure.
The outcomes improved access to social services eg maternal health care, gender sensitization
and empowerment, HIV/AIDS prevention and increased skills and knowledge in transport sector
issues.
The Parallel Project Accomplishment an African Development Bank has been financed Three Projects
Provided as Follows: -
a). Gender Sensitization: The project has raised on gender equality concerns and helps people in
examining their personal attitudes and beliefs and questioning the realities of both sexes.
b). Human Entrepreneur Development Programs: The development objective of Women
Entrepreneurship Development Project (WEDP) is a project providing training and credit to micro
finance and small enterprises owned or partly owned by the participating female entrepreneurs in Sodo
Area of SNNPR
Addressing financing gap of 800 women’s and their enterprises is one of the highest-return
opportunities available in emerging markets and Women entrepreneurships in the project Area.
The growth of female-owned enterprises can be a key driver in reducing overall high
unemployment rates since unemployment rates among women are higher and since women are
more likely to hire other women.
The financer dedicated to Women Entrepreneurs engaged in Micro and small enterprises.
c) Gender Audit: The project enhanced the collective capacity of the women on utilization of
allocated budget in Sodo Area through its activities from a gender perspective and identify strengths
by providing different Technical Analysis and Support
