A report on MIRSCI-22 Physical Education Exhibition
Objectives

Students will be able to

1 Bring out their inherent talents while explaining.

2 Enhance queries from children.

3 Enhance peer teaching through Charts.

4 Study and cure of Modern Lifestyle diseases through Physical education.

Service Motto

As part of a service activity to the students’ community (8-12 th standard), a


Physical education exhibition was organized at SRMV CAS premises during 19-21,
October 2022. The department of Physical education was committed to serve needy
students through their exhibits (Charts.) in the Miracle Science Exhibition (MIRSCI)-
2022. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies,
Coimbatore and Revered Swami Nirmaleshananda Maharaja, Secretary, Sri
Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, SRMV CAS,
Dr. R. Thangavel, Principal, SRMV CAS, heads of various departments’ members of
faculty and students were present over the function.

Train the Trainer

Training is a process in which knowledge, skills and attitude are exchanged between
the trainee and trainer. This will lead to minimizing the gap-between the trainee and
trainer. Hence, an opportunity was given to the students of Physical education to
explain/demonstrate certain Physical education concepts that are part of higher
secondary and secondary Physical education syllabus through charts made by them. This
practice helped our students to understand in curing of lifestyle Diseases, model
concerned to a greater extent. To facilitate this, the following were chosen:-

1. BODY MASS INDEX:
BMI was conducted to different students to know
wheater they are Physically Fit. A Simple Fit Test was
conducted to Different school students to educate the
consequences of the Life style Diseases from Childhood.

2. SIMPLE OWN BODY YOGAASAN:


Charts were classified of simple own body exercise
that helps in prevention of Life style diseases. A simple
Explanation was given to the trainee on Importance of
simple own body yogaasan.

3. SURYA NAMASKAR
Chart and explanation of Steps of Surya Namaskar, and
benefits of Surya Namaskar. Educate the of various
Lifestyle diseases that are prevented by Surya Namaskar
and clearing the queries the students

4. FREE HAND EXERCISES


Charts were made to educate simple free hand exercise
that helps in various ways it's simple exercise that are
follow in home and Outdoor.

A Glimpse of Train the trainer programme

Out Reach and Assessment Sum of 3011 students from 23 schools and 1 polytechnic college in and
around Periyanaickenpalayam, Karamadai, Mettupalayam and Coimbatore regions have visited
the exhibition during the three days. Notable schools are Swami Shivanandha Higher secondary
School, GKD Matriculation Higher secondary School, AVB Matriculation Higher secondary School,
Rose garden Matriculation Higher secondary School, White Eagle plic School, Pioneer Mills Higher
secondary School, Vidyalaya Higher secondary School, Sai Vidyanikethan Higher secondary
School, Tambu Higher secondary School, Dr PGV Public School, Ambal Matriculation Higher
secondary School, Infant Jesus Matriculation Higher secondary School, etc. Visitors have felt that
the displayed chats were useful in knowing the various Simple Exercises, Asana that are
provided in the exhibition. Besides, the visitors were assessed o n B M I and the proofs for
sample are given below:-

Feedback from Peer members

The peer members who developed and Explained have realized that the given
opportunity was useful and helped them to understand the concepts in deep while
explaining them to children. In addition, they felt that it was useful to learn certain
unknown concepts to explain them (visitors). Besides, they requested the event

organizers to host at least one more event in a year with few more new concepts for
acquiring skills. Sample feedback received from peer members is given below.

We got an opportunity to incomplete the oriental knowledge and to explain the basics to school
children. It helped us to understand the concepts in deep while explaining them.

Outcomes
The students were able to

3 Enhanced their cognitive skills with reference to Physical education domain
4 Create awareness on food adulteration and its consequences in human body.
