To the Parent or Guardian of Ariana

We are in the middle of the second quarter, which ends December 21th.  As of

November 18th,  Q is showing that your child currently has a D or F in one or more
classes.  Please check your child’s grades in Q for more detailed information as teachers
may have updated grades.  If you need your parent log in information for Q please
contact the front office at 742-9930.  If you want to be an observer on your child’s
Canvas account, you can go to the ASD website under families or use this link https://
www.asdk12.org/domain/4476.

There is still time for your child to bring grades up.  Please reach out to teachers with
specific questions regarding, Canvas, assignments, grades, or other academic
performance concerns.

As your child’s school counselor, I would like to share information regarding help that is
available for your child:

A daily planner is available for your child from their teacher to record assignments
and for parents to look at on a daily basis. We encourage students to record
assignments and other important information all in one place such as a daily
planner or notebook.

Students and parents have access to check grades and assignments on Q.  Parent
login information can be obtained by calling the front office at 742-9930.

After school tutoring is on most Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 3:00 – 4:30 in
the Library.

Many teachers have their classrooms open at lunchtime to support students,

answer questions, and to help students that need additional help.  Please check
with teachers for specific availability.
We also encourage students to check Q, use Canvas, email, and speak with
teachers to communicate needs.

As the school counselor, I am available to meet with your child to try to help with
organization or other skills.

If you are a parent of an ASD Virtual Program student and need more support, log on
to https://www.asdk12.org/Page/15639

It’s best to email your child’s virtual teachers directly if you have specific questions or
concerns about classes, progress grades, assignments, and classroom policies and
procedures.

My email address is below for specific concerns about your child and any other
educational opportunities that may be available.  Parents, student, and school working
together will certainly offer the best support.

Sincerely,

Deborah Badertscher
