Advantages of taking risks outweigh the disadvantages?

In my point of view, taking risks in professional lives and personal lives are
important. Both aforementioned aspects carry certain equal amounts of benefits and
drawbacks. However, the decision in taking all the risks in life should be contemplated with
deep thoughts for us to minimize the future impact.

In professional lives or being at workplace, taking risks are needed for the positive
growth of our career. For instance, working at hospital alone during on-call period as a
clinical laboratory scientist helps these professional community to have a better confidence,
strong engagement and best cooperation with other departments in the hospital such as
Emergency department in order to save many lives.

Other than that, self-maturity can be enhanced throughout the process of taking up the
risks. After undergone few times of challenges, one shall be more expert in handling certain
occasions with equipped amount of knowledge to cater each problem and manage to provide
the best solution. For example, before investing money in doing a business, one will think the
appropriate type of business he or she will do beforehand so that it can be sustained for a
longer period of time. This technique is first being implemented to avoid any capital loss.
Therefore, effective strategy including planning the details of the business especially in terms
of the financial aspect will be apprehended.

The drawback of taking risks may clearly be shown when the outcome is
unfavourable to the action taken due to certain circumstances. When a person decided to take
a professional exam, he or she should have a good preparation. However, if the physical
health is not in ready-state for example, the person may not perform well during the exam.
This will lead to poor achievement or failure. The emotional aspect must also be taken care of
during this critical time. Uncontrolled emotional state and low supports from family members
may contributed to depression.
To summarise, taking risks in professional lives and personal lives have their own
pros and cons. Thus, concrete strategies should be outlined and the outcome of the action
must be well aware of so that an individual can have a better preparation in advance.
