Metoclopramide

DOSE: 10 mg
ROUTE:IV
CLASSIFICATION
PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC: DOPamine, serotonin receptor antagonist.
CLINICAL: GI agent, antiemetic

USE
Prevent nausea/vomiting after surgery

Therapeutic Effect: Accelerates intestinal transit, promotes gastric


emptying. Relieves nausea, vomiting.

FOR POSTOPERATIVE PAIN

KETOROLAC
DOSE:30 mg, 3 doses q 8hours
ROUTE: IV
CLASSIFICATION
PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC: NSAID.
CLINICAL: Analgesic, intraocular antiinflammatory.
USES:
Short-term (5 days or less) relief of mild to moderate pain.Ketorolac,
when administered intramuscularly or orally, is a safe and effective analgesic
agent for the short-term management of acute postoperative pain and can be
used as an alternative to opioid therapy.

TRAMADOL
DOSE: 40 mg, 4 doses q 8
ROUTE: IV
CLASSIFICATION
PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC: Centrally acting synthetic opioid.
CLINICAL: Analgesic

USES
Immediate-Release: Management of moderate to moderately severe pain.
Extended-Release: Around-the-clock management of moderate to
moderately severe pain for extended period

PARACETAMOL
DOSE: 600mg,4 doses q 6
ROUTE: IV
CLASSIFICATION:
PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC:Central analgesic.
CLINICAL: Nonnarcotic analgesic, antipyretic.

USES:
PO, rectal: Temporary relief of mild to moderate pain, headache,
fever. IV: (Additional)
Management of moderate to severe pain when combined with opioid
analgesia.
