Field Study 2: Participation and Teaching Assistantship

In FS 2, you will continue to exercise your observation skills. However, you will have
a more active role in the teaching-learning environment. You will actively participate and
assist in the critical areas of the teaching-learning process.
Here are some tasks in FS 2 where you can participate and assist in the actual teaching-
learning:
1. Participation in the preparation of instructional materials (IMs)
• Assist in the preparation of IMs or teaching aids for specific lessons
2. Construction of Bulletin Boards
3. Participation in classroom management activities
• Assist in the physical arrangement of the classroom.
• Management of class routine
• Help maintain a safe classroom atmosphere
4. Participation in the Assessment in learning
• Assist in the making of the test items for the formative and summative tests.
• Assist in the recording and interpretation of test results.
• Conduct remediation classes for slow learners.
• Conduct enrichment activities for advanced learners.
• Assist the FS Resource Teacher on Card-giving Day and in the Parents-
Teachers’ Conference.
5. Other Activities in FS 2
• Assist FS Resource Teacher in
✓ Conducting co-curricular activities
✓ Acting as coach in competitions
• Preparing five (5) lesson plans then teach with different subject matters.
• At least three (3) remedial/tutorial classes
• At least three (3) pre-recorded videos (to be uploaded) and curriculum packages
• Make a Portfolio
