Statement of Purpose

Management is an all-encompassing area of expertise required in every organisation to achieve

desired goals. With the advent of technologies and rapid increase in competition, it has become
even more indispensable for organisations to adopt and implement effective management into
operations to meet the growing tide of the business industry. Having realised this wide
magnitude of management, along with my deep passion to become a dynamic professional, I
wish to pursue MSc Management at the venerated University of Manchester.
Being a 90’s kid, I have lived in a time before technology and social media became fuel for
society. I have experienced the world transitioning from a place where people spent a great deal
of time doing any task to a place where the whole world is at your fingertips. With every
innovation and idea capable of changing the world, the desire to contribute to these evolutions
drives my passion for technology. I accomplished my under graduation in B.E Computer
Engineering from Mumbai University. This course has enabled me to study subjects in assorted
disciplines such as Business Communication & Ethics, Database Management, Management of
Information System, Software Project Management (SE), Cloud Computing, and Computer
Networks. I have had the opportunity to acquire firm foundations in the concerned subject and
develop keen technical abilities in a wide range of areas. Being an active student, I zealously
participated in multiple extra-curricular activities such as clubs, cultural fests, technical events,
workshops, and many more. At college, I was the Assistant Creative Design Head for Computer
Society of India, TSEC student branch, Digital Marketing Director in Rotaract Club of Thane
Central, managed the TEDx – TSEC event, and volunteered for several NGOs imbibing good
interpersonal and leadership skills. During my under-graduation, I have completed internships in
various sectors like Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Teaching at start-ups and mid-
sized firms. 
I am currently working at Deloitte India as an Outsystems Certified Associate Reactive Web
Developer since October 2020. Some of my responsibilities include assisting in application
design thinking sessions to design users’ stories for critical modules, being involved in designing
the architecture for the same module, developing critical Operator Onboarding & Management
modules of Integrated Distribution and Subscription Management, testing and debugging the
developed modules, and a few other more. Working on a Low Code No Code platform has
helped me to focus on my logical flow designing, cognitive skills, creative problem solving, and
analytical skills. I have had an enriching work experience that has further enhanced my technical
skills in different verticals.
To ascend further on the professional front and transpire into a dynamic professional, I am
determined to undertake a management program. I am fascinated by the application potential of
effective management and its practices that can be used to deliver immediate business impact. I
have come to understand that businesses are not just built by technological excellence but also
require transformational managerial knowledge. And with this fast pace advancement in the
tech- business-oriented world, one needs to acquire a thorough understanding of management
knowledge, tools, and skills. I intend to develop and apply models and concepts to highlight and
obliterate management issues and challenges faced in digital transformation and sustainable
management. To bolster my professional growth, a master’s in management will help me to
establish a thriving career in Product / Project Management. 
Further, I want to achieve a senior managerial position as an individual who possesses the ability
to understand the complex interrelation between relevant business challenges, analyse market
changes or trends impact, and recommend not only the optimal, sustainable solutions/changes
but also on how best to navigate these changes. I strongly believe that sustainability should be a
major priority for any business. According to a McKinsey report, sustainable companies are
more profitable than their less sustainable counterparts, performing above the market average
over three to five years. In this landscape, having a good understanding of sustainable
management will be crucial for future business leaders. My long-term goal includes managing an
organization sustainably, which not only benefits the environment and local community but also
brings benefits like increased staff morale, greater profitability, and improved business models. 
Therefore, I am drawn towards applying to the University of Manchester to pursue MSc
Management because the program offered here has been designed intensively covering both
theoretical and practical aspects of contemporary management and taught through a blended
learning process. This course will help me integrate managerial expertise with technology and
hone my abilities in innovation, project management, marketing, and strategic skills but also
enhance my technological skills. I also look forward to studying modules such as Marketing &
Marketing Management, Business Performance & Strategy, Sustainability and Social, and
Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. In addition, the course will challenge me to apply
my learning in new and unfamiliar contexts and make responsible real-world impacts on global
scale communities and businesses. Therefore, the MSc Management program is ideally the most
compelling program for an aspirant like me.
In addition to all these, the University of Manchester holds distinction in offering a dynamic and
propitious learning platform with vast growth opportunities. Being a part of your university
would be a life-changing venture for me. The university also embraces a diverse preserve with
scholars and professionals from different parts of the world and offers learners a platform to
embark on innovative and research-career paths. This will further help me gain global exposure
whilst transforming me into a global professional with vast capabilities. Therefore, I shall remain
ever grateful and commit full enthusiasm to the program if I’m offered a chance to participate in
the MSc Management program.
