Actual CI data load from TADDM and CI Promotion work in this VM

1. To View the CI data that was promoted, proceed with the following:
a) go to Administration | Classifications application --> open ROOTAUTHCI and Run
Reports | Classification Hierarchy (this will show the Root CI Class and the tree including
a total of 13 CI classifications)
b) go to IT Infrastructure | Configuration Items application --> query by classification in the
filter row AUTH (this will show a total of 16 CIs that all relate in some way to the Inventory
Management application). These CIs were left in the NOT READY mode as we did not
want to restrict our demo users from manipulating the data without having to use the
Change application.
c) The PowerPoint slide referenced below is a good complement to the classification report
and the CI query to give the demo users an idea of what data might be available.

See screen shots in the powerpoint file ‘TADDMphysicaltopology_TAMITdemodata.ppt’

2. All of the Actual CIs that make up the Inventory Management application, as depicted in the
TADDM screen shot, were not promoted. The three levels from Inventory Management
Application down to the Linux and the Windows machines on the left-hand side of the diagram
have been replicated as Authorized CIs.
Did not promote:
1) Actual CI = CLUSTER34
– bypassed the ‘memberof’ relationship for the helios:server5 & 6 straight to WEBSPHERE
CLUSTER~24005
2) Any “GS7” Actual CIs
3) The AIX, HPUX and SUN Computer systems
