Chapter 1

Title: Organizational structure of Industry/Organization and General Lay

Out

Organization Structure of Industry

An organizational structure is a system that outlines how certain activities are directed in
order to achieve the goals of an organization. These activities can include rules, roles, and
responsibilities.

The organizational structure also determines how information flows between levels within
the company. For example, in a centralized structure, decisions flow from the top down,
while in a decentralized structure, decision-making power is distributed among various levels
of the organization. Having an organizational structure in place allows companies to remain
efficient and focused

An organizational structure outlines how certain activities are directed to achieve the goals of
an organization.

Successful organizational structures define each employee's job and how it fits within the
overall system.

A centralized structure has a defined chain of command, while decentralized structures give
almost every employee receiving a high level of personal agency.

Types of organizational structures include functional, divisional, plutarchy, and matrix

structures.

Senior leaders should consider a variety of factors before deciding which type of organization
is best for their business, including the business goals, industry, and culture of the company.

Corporate office area 280 Sq. Ft. at Hadapsar, Pune. The industry’s year wise turnover is
around 35 lac + for all software projects they undertake. backed by comprehensive
management planning and supervision.

Types of Computer
We can categorize computer in two ways: on the basis of data handling capabilities and size.

On the basis of data handling capabilities, the computer is of five types:

 Minicomputer
 Computer hardware
 Input devices
 Secondary memory
 Main memory

Input devices
A plethora of devices falls into the category of input peripheral. Typical examples include
keyboards, mice, trackballs, pointing sticks, joysticks, digital tablets, touch pads, and
scanners.Keyboards contain mechanical or electromechanical switches that change the flow
of current through the keyboard when depressed. A microprocessor embedded in the
keyboard interprets these changes and sends a signal to the computer. In addition to letter and
number keys, most keyboards also include “function” and “control” keys that modify input or
send special commands to the computer.Secondary memorySecondary memory on a
computer is storage for data and programs not in use at the moment. In addition to punched
cards and paper tape, early computers also used magnetic tape for secondary storage. Tape is
cheap, either on large reels or in small cassettes, but has the disadvantage that it must be read
or written sequentially from one end to the other.

Main memory

The earliest forms of computer main memory were mercury delay lines, which were tubes of
mercury that stored data as ultrasonic waves, and cathode-ray tubes, which stored data as
charges on the tubes’ screens. The magnetic drum, invented about 1948, used an iron oxide
coating on a rotating drum tostore data and programs as magnetic patterns.

Chapter 3

Title: Types of major equipment/instruments/ machines used in industry with their

specification, approximate cost and specific use and their routine maintenance

Network Switch

A switch is a multiport bridge with a buffer and design that can boot it’s efficiency (a large
number of ports imply less traffic) and performance. switch is a data link layer device. the
switch can perform error checking before forwarding data, which makes it very efficient as it
does not forward packets that have errors and forward packets that have errors and forward
good in other words, the switch divides the collision domain of hosts, but broadcast domain
remains the same. specifications are it is of 24 ports (rj45), USB supported and multi-device
connected.

Router

A router is a device like a switch that router data packets based on their IP addresses. The
mainly a network layer device. router normally connect LAN’s and wans together and
dynamically updating routing table based on which they make decisions on routing the data
packets. Router divide broadcast domains of hosts connected through it. Specifications are it
is of 24 ports (RJ45), USB supported and multi-device connected.

Hub

A hub is basically a multiport repeater. A hub connects multiple wires coming from different
Branches, for example, so data packets are sent to all connected devices. In other words, the
Collision domain of all hosts connected through Hub remains one. Also, they do not have the
Intelligence to find out best path for data packets which leads to inefficiencies and wastage.
Specifications are it is of 24 ports (RJ45), USB supported and multi-device connected.

Modem

Modems (modulators-demodulators) are used to transmit digital signals over analogue

telephone lines. Thus, digital signals are converted by the modem into analogue signals of
different frequencies and transmitted to a modem at the receiving location. The receiving
modem performs the reverse transformation and provides a digital output to a device
connected to a modem, usually a computer. The digital data is usually transferred to or from
the modem over a serial line through an industry standard interface. Many telephone
companies offer DSL services, and many cable operators use modems as end terminals for
identification and recognition of home and personal users. Modems work on both the
Physical and Data Link layers. Specifications are it is of 24 ports (RJ45) ,USB supported and
multi-device connected.

Chapter 5

Title: Testing of raw material, components and finished products along

with quality assurance procedures
Testing of Raw material

Intertek tests raw materials, feedstocks and other commodities, ingredients and components
used in a wide range of products. Testing raw materials can include evaluation and screening
of feedstocks, unprocessed materials, semi-processed materials and finished products for
quality specifications, impurities and more, including higher-end analytical testing and
characterization if required. The most common tests performed in a raw materials laboratory
include titrations, loss on drying, Karl Fischer moisture determination, heavy metals limit
tests, and infrared spectrophotometer- try. Full monograph testing often requires as many as
seven different analytical techniques.

Components of AWS

AWS components

To assess AWS cloud computing capabilities, we must first examine the basic components of
the cloud. There are different components of AWS, but only for key components.

Amazon Cluster

Also known as the Amazon account, AWS has the main computer service EC2 (Elastic cloud
computer) and ELB (Elastic Load Balancing). Due to these cases, companies can increase or
decrease according to needs. Administrators and system developers use the EC2 instances to
maintain and run the cloud computing. The evaluation is based on the use. The first AWS
timers receive approximately 750 EC2 hours per month during the first year. But they also
have three pricing models, such as on-demand, on-site samples, and a backup case.
Depending on the location, the size, complexity and on-demand storage requirements vary
from $ 0.13 to $ 4.60.

The prices of backup copies are if users are expected to pre-order an advance in the range of
one to three years. AWS offers up to 75% discount on-demand prices when users reserve
cloud computing.

The comparison of sample prices allows users to make offers for the calculation of instances
that are not used. Prices vary according to consumption, time of day, week or month.

For smaller human interventions and fault tolerance, AWS ELB distributes applications in all
cases of EC2. The ELB service is free of charge in 15 GB of data processing and 750 hours

8
TYCO 2022 - 2023
Industrial Training Report on AWS

of monthly service for one year. The highest charges are charged every hour and each GB is
transferred.

Storage

The simple storage service (S3) from Amazon, Elastic Block Storage (EBS) and CloudFront
are three Amazon storage options. Storage in AWS is guaranteed by the pay-per-use model.
Amazon S3 is an AWS storage offering, which can store any amount of storage required. It is
used for several reasons, such as storing content, backing up, archiving and recovering an
accident, as well as storing data.

Along with the first free copy of EC2 of the free year, AWS also offers 5 GB of cloud storage
and 20,000 GET requests, as well as 5,000 free S3 requests from S3 the first year. After the
first year, the price is from $ 0,300 per 1 GB to 1 TB per month. EBS is very useful for
measuring EC2 samples. Prices are based on geographic regions, such as the disk technology
used and the required GB of reserved memory. CloudFront is an excellent storage option for
developers and business organizations that facilitate low-latency, high-speed data transfer.

Databases

Along with caching and data storage in the AWS petabyte area, the relational ladder, and the
NoSQL database are also included. DynamoDB is a NoSQL database that offers large and
economical storage. By using EC2 and EBS, users can manage their own databases in AWS.
The Relational Database Service (RDS) and Amazon Redshift are two AWS databases.

Amazon RDS is used to manage and expand MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL in
AWS. Based on examples of hours and amount of storage, RDS is used. Redshift is a data
storage service through which users can store data in columns instead of rows. Prices are
based on case hours, such as $ 0.25 per hour. Become an AWS Certified Expert in 25Hours

Management and security

The AWS directory service directly connects AWS clouds to local locations. CloudWatch
controls the cloud resources for AWS. The AWS CloudTrail API records require AWS user
accounts. Cloud Trial does it for free.

Networks

Amazon VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) provides versatile network performance in AWS,
which means it provides integrated security and a private cloud. VPC is free with EC2. AWS
Direct Connect allows users to connect directly to a cloud that goes through the Internet. The
price is per hour.

Analytics

9
TYCO 2022 - 2023
Industrial Training Report on AWS

AWS provides data analysis services in all areas, such as Hadoop, orchestration and data
transmission and real-time storage. EMR (Elastic MapReduce) is an analytical facilitator used
by companies, data analysts, researchers and developers to process parts of data. The
evaluation is carried out by the hour. Redshift also offers some analytical capabilities

Application services

Amazon SQS (simple queue service) is used to automate the workflow between different
services. There is a special queue used to store messages. The service is free up to 1 million
messages per month, and then for every million messages, 0.50 USD is charged.

SWS (Simple Workflow Service) is a task management and coordination service for AWS.
10,000 active tasks, 30,000 working days and 1,000 executions executed for one year are free
for users. In addition, users pay approximately $ 0.0001 per workflow

Implementation and management

Elastic Beanstalk uses Java, .NET, PHP, Node.js, Python and Ruby to implement and
measure web applications. Health and registration files can be easily monitored.
CloudFormation helps companies and developers gather and provide important AWS
resources.

Quality Procedures

In addition to the software, hardware, human resource and real estate assets that are
encompassed in the scope of the AWS quality management system supporting the
development and operations of AWS services, it also includes documented information
including, but not limited to source code, system documentation and operational policies and
procedures.

AWS implements formal, documented policies and procedures that provide guidance for
operations and information security within the organization and the supporting AWS
environments. Policies address purpose, scope, roles, responsibilities and management
commitment. All policies are maintained in a centralized location that is accessible by
employees.

AWS Security Assurance is responsible for familiarizing employees with the AWS security
policies. AWS has established information security functions that are aligned with defined
structure, reporting lines, and responsibilities. Leadership involvement provides clear
direction and visible support for security initiatives has established a formal audit program
that includes continual, independent internal and external assessments to validate the
implementation and operating effectiveness of the AWS control.

Chapter 6

Title: Major material handling products & material handling procedures.

What is material handling?

Effective material handling is the centre of all operations for many large companies. Their
operations’ safety and success significantly depend on transporting materials, work in
progress, and finished goods from one area of the facility to another. Furthermore, it is
critical to ensure timely order fulfilment, which leads to customer satisfaction.

In addition, the material handling process involves the movement, protection, storage, and
control of materials. This handling process occurs in the following industries:

 manufacturing shop floors

 warehousing and distribution
 automotive and aero scope
 food and beverage
 E-commerce and retail
 construction and hardware
 consumer goods and electrical appliances
 hospitals and pharmaceuticals
 chemicals, paper, and plastics
 material disposal and more.

Ensuring safety in workplaces where material transportation occurs is also a growing need
across most industries. Efficient material handling processes can reduce accidents
significantly.

Types of material handling

Manual Material Handling:

Manual Material Handling (MMH) makes use of physical force to move, lift, retrieve, and
store goods and products. Usually, organizations have to rely on human or animal labor for
manual handling. Lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying, holding, or restraining are all
the activities associated with manual handling.

Automated Material Handling:

11
TYCO 2022 - 2023
Industrial Training Report on AWS

Automated Material Handling (AMH), on the other hand, involves using robots and other
computerized devices for moving, lifting, pulling, pushing, storing, and retrieving goods and
products. Automated material handling may involve single mechanical equipment or a set of
different devices such as check-in tools, sorters, conveyors, stackers, unloading machines,
totes, bins, trolleys, and tote carriers, among others.

Defining material handling

According to MHI, the organization devoted to improving the material handling industry
through education and research, material handling uses a variety of automated, semi-
automated and manual equipment and systems to support the supply chain. The right material
handling processes enhance logistics and efficiency. In addition, good material handling
processes can improve customer service, reduce inventory, lower costs and shorten delivery
lead times.

Still, many manufacturers and distributors forget to include material handling process
planning when designing the layout of their facilities. Material handling often gets short-
changed when it comes to budget allocations and process design. They think, "It's just
moving stuff around. How much value can it add?"

The truth is that material handling can offer a lot of value. Poor material handling processes
add cost and reduce throughput, while good processes and equipment help with almost every
aspect of the business. In fact, excessive movement is considered one of the seven wastes of
lean manufacturing. Lean practitioners everywhere try to root out excessive movement, since
it is a non-value-added activity.

Major products used in material handling

Cranes

Cranes in the industries, comes to use when the loads are too heavy to move with conveyors.
Cranes can lift the loads both vertically and horizontally and the maximum load-taking
capacity is much higher. But cranes too have a limitation. You can use cranes to lift loads
within a limited area.

Slings

Slings are commonly used in combination with a lifting device, such as an overhead crane,
hoist, or forklift. “Wire Rope” is the most commonly used sling. Used in the construction and
other applications where heavy loads and rugged conditions exist.

Pallet jacks

A pallet jack, truck or pump is used to transport materials that have been stacked on pallets.
These jacks have twin forks, which slide under the pallet. The handle is then used to raise the
forks with a pumping force, creating a hydraulic action that lifts the pallet, and enables
transportation.

12
TYCO 2022 - 2023
Industrial Training Report on AWS

Conveyor belts

A conveyor belt is a motor-driven belt that forms part of a conveyor system. Items that
require transportation are simply placed on one end of the belt, and the motorized system
moves them to their destination.

Bucket elevators

Also called a grain leg, a bucket elevator is used to transport small, loose items vertically. It
is usually a motorized device, but can be hand-cranked as well. A series of small buckets are
attached to a belt. The buckets scoop up the materials when at the bottom of the belt, then lift
and disperse the materials at the top. Some bucket elevators may be inclined.

Steps to develop effective material handling processes

Plan

Use a team approach to design the material handling system, taking into account the
organization's objectives.

Standardize

Be consistent in your choice of storage equipment, including bins, shelves and racks, as well
as equipment used to transport materials. Also, be consistent in your processes to minimize
confusion and errors.

Simplify

Reduce, combine or eliminate as much movement as possible. For example, move finished
goods directly to the shipping dock rather than through the warehouse.

Consider Ergonomics

Design your processes to eliminate repetitive motion, reduce manual labor and adhere to
safety standards.

Unitize

Wherever possible, move full pallets or containers to improve efficiency and reduce effort.

Organize

Working in an organized space is more efficient than working around clutter. Many of the 5-
S principles from lean manufacturing relate to the need for a clean, organized workspace.
This applies as much to material handling as it does to manufacturing. It also means
effectively using space, including overhead space.

13
TYCO 2022 - 2023
Industrial Training Report on AWS

Systematize

Coordinate material handling across the entire enterprise. Consider all material movement
when you plan and systematize.

Go Green Reuse and recycle equipment to reduce the environmental impact of your material
handling. Reusable packing, returnable containers and recycling packing materials can all
contribute to more effective operations.

Automate Employ automation wherever possible. Think of automated picking and put-away
technologies. Invest in conveyor systems. Automation boosts efficiency, consistency and
responsiveness while increasing accuracy.

Evaluate Life-cycle Costs

When considering investing in material handling equipment, don't simply look at the initial
capital outlay. Account for the cost of consumables, training, installation, setup, maintenance
and repair.

Sometimes a material handling solution that appears less expensive upfront will actually
result in higher costs overall. In addition to costs, evaluate the improvements in efficiency
and productivity. Manufacturers and distributors operate with very small margins. They are
used to looking at every expenditure with an eye toward reducing costs and increasing
productivity. Material handling equipment and processes deserve the same rigorous analysis.
When you see the contribution that the right processes can make to the bottom line, you will
be convinced that material handling equipment and processes are essential components.

Chapter 7

Title: -Safety procedures followed & safety gear used (includes preventive
maintenance schedule & breakdown maintenance procedures).
Safety procedures followed and safety gear used:
Failures modes, including hardware, software human & system are addressed in the design of
the software.
Sound software engineering practices & documentation are used in the development of the
software.
Software is designed for human machine interface, ease of maintenance & modification or
enhancement.
Software with safety critical functionality must be thoroughly verified with objective
analysis. After the development we were copying the completed assignments in the proper
folders. We were taking backup of the code in external devices like pen drives, CDs.
Unplug all computer equipment & peripherals before opening any cases. Only exception to
this is if we were working without an anti-static mat- keeping cord in would provide a
ground. Wear proper apparel. Avoid acrylic or wool sweaters when working with electronic
parts. Do not wear loose fitting clothes, rings, bracelet, etc.
Keep your work area clean, organized & well lit. It’s your workstation -keep it tidy.

Do not force components into computer ports. Working with computer technology requires
more brain power than muscle power. If it isn't going in with normal procedure, something is
wrong- wrong screw size, wrong slot, mismatched parts, etc. Ask for help as needed.

Use an anti-static wrist strap or an anti-static mat, or discharge yourself by touching a

grounded metal object before you touch any parts inside the system.

Check all circuits & installations with the instructor before power is applied.

Replaces all cases or coverings after inspections or installation. Reinstall the proper size & no
of screws if screws are missing, ask your teacher for extras.

Retain all screws during a system disassembly. Save & sort them in containers.

Electronic components should never become hot. Hot components mean that there is a
problem with the circuit. Disconnect any power immediately.

Competency:

15
TYCO 2022 - 2023
Industrial Training Report on AWS

This course is intended to develop the following competencies:

Soft Skill I.e., Communication Presentation etc.

Life skill i.e. Time Management, Safety, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Team building etc.,

Hands-on that is design implementation, O and M quality assurance aspects.

Industry specific tools example Value Engineering Six Sigma and learn.

Breakdown Maintenance
Breakdown Maintenance is maintenance performed on a piece of equipment that has broken
down, faulted, or otherwise cannot be operated. The goal of breakdown-maintenance is to fix
something that has malfunctioned.
Sometimes it is performed because of an unplanned event. For example, if a critical piece of
machinery breaks, the maintenance is performed because of the imminent need for that
machine to operate again. However, breakdown-maintenance can be planned for in advance,
which is what we might call “good” breakdown-maintenance.

Breakdown Maintenance Workflow

Most breakdown situations follow a similar workflow in cloud computing:

A maintenance operator detects an equipment issue and then alerts management by phone,
email, or CMMS.
Management creates and assigns a work order for asset inspection.
The assigned technician analyses the problem and provides feedback on the expected time,
parts, and costs associated with repair or replacement. If the equipment malfunction being
evaluated cannot be replicated, this may lead to a significant wastage of resources.
If possible, the assigned maintenance worker fixes the issue.
The worker restarts the machine to verify the correct performance.
The issue is “closed” within a CMMS, spreadsheet, or paperwork order.

Title: Particular of Practical Experience in Industry/ Organization if any in

Production/Assembly/Testing/Maintenance

Particulars of practical experience

The Industrial Training refers of Practicing, practical were taken that helped the student to
build their Confidence and Improve their Development Skill. Through Such skill the student
became able to became be professional in their Future.

Skills and many other things learnt from Industry: -

We learnt various skills, things and knowledge which we had never gone through before such
technical aspects. We also learnt How the Industry or a Company works through and several
points about it. The Staff also thought us about How to work in an professional Organization
and also the behavioral guidelines and Aspects about it. Practical work in industry teaches us
more valuable things, skills, Discipline, teamwork, leadership skills Communication skills
and problem solving. In this industry we done practical about ethernet cable assembly and
testing.

Here, the steps of assembly & testing of ethernet cable:

Steps: -

Strip your cable. Use your cable strippers at about 1-2 inches from the end of the cable to
remove the outer jacket.

Untwist the twisted pair wires all the way back to the jacket. This can be done just like a
regular twist-tie on a loaf of bread, but with four of them of different colours.

Align the untwisted wires in the order necessary for your needs. For this scenario, you'll be
making a straight-through cable, which has both ends of the cable with the same alignment of
wires, so it's easy enough to do. Since this is your first cable, we'll consult the cheat sheet to
know what order we're aligning in!

Cut the extra wire. Once you've untwisted the wires, you'll have a superfluous amount of
copper wiring left; we don't need this much, but it's good to have it in the previous step to
help in aligning the colours properly. Use the wire-cutting scissors to cut these off.

17
TYCO 2022 - 2023
Industrial Training Report on AWS

Push the remaining wires into the RJ45 head. Be careful not to bend the wires while pushing
them in or you run the risk of creating a bad cable. You also don't want too little or too much
wire left in the head; there's no definite length necessary, but it's pretty obvious to tell if
there's too much cable or not enough. A short length of the jacket should be up the RJ45
head.

Double-check that the wires are all the way up into the gold pins of the head and made it up
in the proper order.

Push the head into the open space of the crimping tool and squeeze it closed, hard. If you
don't crimp the cable all the way, the head may come off.

Open the crimping tool and remove your newly-crimped Ethernet connector.

Repeat the crimping process on the other side of the cable if you're making a completely new
cable. If you're repairing one end, this won't apply to you, so move on.

Plug one end of the cable into the tan, two-port end of the cable tester, and the other end into
the other part of the tester with the graphic display window. Turn it on and listen for the beep.
If it beeps once, you successfully made Ethernet cable; if it beeps twice, some part of the
cable is messed up and needs repairing. Depending on the error, the cable may or may not
still be usable.

Plug your Ethernet cable in. Now that you've made an Ethernet cable all by yourself, you can
connect all kinds of devices together.

Dealing with Change

Organizational change is common and more challenging than ever. Navigating through
changes related to mergers, acquisitions, technology, budgets, and staffing is the top
challenge cited by L&D professionals.

How to Resolve learning and development professionals can work with leaders and others
in the business to craft messaging and build development resources that support the
“why” behind changes being implemented. This can help them:

Inject their training with the right purpose, tone, and message.

Analyse the needs of the audience from a number of different perspectives.

Effectively prioritize their initiatives to alleviate some of the stress and challenges change
may bring.

Developing Leaders

Many work environments face leadership-development challenges. It is crucial for

organizations to develop leaders at every level—from team leads on the front lines all the
way up to the CEO—to support their success and ensure that the business will be
successful in the short and long term.

How to Resolve

Businesses that invest in leadership development are 2.4 times more likely to meet their
performance goals. learning and development professionals can proactively support this
by:

Understanding the competencies that the business wants and needs in its leaders so that
the organization is set up to meet its strategic and people-planning goals.

Understanding what leaders want to learn about and providing them with opportunities to
develop those competencies. This allows learning and development professionals to
customize leaders’ development journeys.

Finding commonalities between what the business needs and the interests and personal
goals of team members so that training can be both strategically motivated and personally
inspiring.

Collaborating with business leaders to create a learning roadmap that entails specific
milestones along with short- and long-term goals.

Engaging Learners

learning and development professionals must communicate the value of learning and
development. Too often, other urgent tasks seem to take priority while learning and
development falls by the wayside. It’s a challenge to get learners to attend, actively
participate, and follow through on their development assignments, and without clear
prioritization or accountability measures in place, this is likely to continue.

How to Resolve

learning and development team members should work with the HR and leadership teams
to make learning and development an organizational priority. Ongoing learning should be
a core organizational value and something that is both provided for current employees as
well as built into the hiring and retention process. This can work through methods such
as:

Making training job-relevant in a way that helps team members improve their day-to-day
performance.

Understanding the broader professional goals of individual employees and providing

training and development opportunities that support those endeavours.

Understanding the differences and similarities in learning styles and needs across
generations of the workforce.

Providing individualized development plans.

Establishing learning pathways that naturally bridge from role to role in terms of
complexity and level of responsibility.

Establishing learning and development as a company priority by incentivizing completion

of learning modules. (e.g., pay raise, additional PTO days, etc.)

Delivering Consistent Training

When a company is global or geographically dispersed, it increases the difficulty of

providing consistent training. The most common challenges of training and development
include geographic limitations, increased costs, language barriers, translation issues, and
virtual training needs.

How to Resolve

learning and development leaders can deliver training and development more consistently
by:

Committing to communicating across different forms of media. (e.g., phone calls, video
conferencing, email, instant messaging)

Providing training opportunities that are driven by and built for the needs of the audience.

Providing real-time feedback to accelerate training and performance.

Building relationships with team members to promote camaraderie, authentic

relationships, and open disclosure about the training they need.

Scheduling time on a consistent basis to meet with and talk to the team about individual,
team, and organizational goals.
