Emphasis is a principle of art that relates to the use of visual components to highlight a

certain area of an artwork, typically a focal point. You may use emphasis in your
painting in a variety of ways. It often includes contrasting several components against
one another.
The reason I chose to depict this is because many individuals, including myself, are
hesitant to step outside of their comfort zone because we are afraid of failure and social
rejection. This drawing sends the message that we shouldn't make judgement on
someone since we are unaware of the trauma they are experiencing.
