Ø Narration কােক বেল?

○ কান কথা ব ার িনেজর ভাষায় সরাসির বা ব া যভােব বেলেছ সভােব কাশ করেলা িকনা তা যার মাধ েম
বুঝা যায় তােক narration বেল।
Ø Narration কত কার?
○ ২ কারঃ
§ Direct: ব ার কথা অিবকল কাশ করেল
□ He said, "I am ill'
§ Indirect: ব ার কথা িনেজর ভাষায় কাশ করেল
□ He said that he was ill.
Ø Reported speech কী?
○ ইনভােটড কমার িভতেরর অংশ।
§ He said, "I am ill'
Ø Reported verb কী?
○ Reported speech এ য verb থােক তাই Reported verb
§ He said, "I am ill'
Ø Reporting speech কী?
○ ইনভােটড কমার বািহেরর অংশ
Ø Reporting verb কী?
○ Reporting speech এ য verb থােক তাই Reporting verb
§ He said, "I am ill'
Ø Indirect করার সময় ৫িট যায়গায় পিরবতন করেত হয়ঃ
i. Person এর পিরবতন
ii. Tense এর পিরবতন
iii. Reporting Verb এর পিরবতন
iv. Inverted Comma তুেল দয়া বা তার ব বহার
v. কিতপয় শ বা শ সমি র পিরবতন

Ø Person এর পিরবতনঃ
a. Reported Speech এ 1st person থাকেল, Reporting Speech এর Subject অনুযায়ী পিরবতন
হেব। তেব We ারা মানবজািত বা Speaker, lisenter ইজনেক একে বুজােল "We' অপিরবিতত
থােক। আবার We ারা Editor ক বুজােল তা It এ পা র হেব।
He says, "I am well"
He says that he is well.

b. Reported Speech এ 2nd person, Reporting Speech এর object অনুযায়ী পিরবতন হেব।
He says to me, "You are well"
He told me that I am well.

c. Reported Speech এ 3rd person এর পিরবতন হেব না।

He says to Kamal. "He is well'
He told Kamal that he is well.
টকিনকঃ 1520 (First person subject, 2nd person object)

d. Reporting speech না থাকেল তা ধের িনেত হেব- The speaker said to the person (spoken
to) that……

e. Speaker এবং listener ২ জনই proper noun হেল তােদর নােমর ১ম অ র েকেটর মেধ িলখেত
হেব।

Ø Tense এর পিরবতন:
i. Reporting Verb- যিদ Present/ Future tense হয়, তেব এর Reported speech এর Verb এর
কান পিরবতন হেব না।
ii. Reported Verb এর tense অনুসাের পিরবতনঃ

§ Interrogative sentence:
□ Comma এর পিরবেত কী বসেব?
® িকছু বসেব না
□ Reported Speech এর অথ অনুসাের, Reporting speech এর verb িহেসেব কী কী
বসেত পাের?
® asked, wanted to know, demanded of, wondered (Shall/ will ারা
হেল),
□ Wh- question িদেয় হেল তার পিরবেত কী বসােত হেব করেত হেব? Wh- question
িদেয় না হেল তার পিরবেত কী বসােত হেব করেত হেব?
® Wh- question থাকেল তা িদেয়ই করেত হেব। অন থায় if/ whether িদেয়
করেত হেব।
 □ Tag question থাকেল তার জন কী হেব?

§ Imperative Sentence:
□ Comma এর পিরবেত কী বসােত হেব?
® Possitive: to
® Negative: not+ to
® Let / Let's: that
□ Reported Speech এর অথ অনুসাের, Reporting speech এর verb িহেসেব কী কী
বসেত পাের?
® requested, ordered, commanded, advised, begged, forbade (neg),
prohibited (neg) ব ব ত হেব। Sir শ িট থাকেল respectfully/ with
respect. Let us িদেয় হেল, proposed / suggested + that + subject +
should + বাকী অংশ। কবল Let থাকেল wished / told / said + that + sub +
might / might be / allowed to + বাকী অংশ
□ Vocative case থাকেল?
® addressing+ object + as বা addressing his/ her শ িট ব বহার করা যায়।
§ Optative Sentence:
□ Comma এর পিরবেত কী বসােত হেব?
® that
□ Reported Speech এ - অথ অনুসাের, Reporting speech এর verb িহেসেব কী কী
বসেত পাের?
® wished, prayed

§ Exclematory Sentence:
i. Reported Speech এ - আ যেবাধক শ থাকেল অথ অনুসাের, Reporting speech
এর verb িহেসেব (cried out in joy/sorrow) ব ব ত হেব।
ii. Reported Speech- what/ how িদেয় হেল অথ অনুসাের, Reporting speech
এর verb িহেসেব (exclaimed with joy/ sorrow, grief) ব ব ত হেব।
iii. Comma এর পিরবেত that বসােত হেব
iv. Reported Speech- what/ how ারা হেল তােক assertive করেত হয়।

Ø িবেশষ িনয়মঃ
i. অেনক সময় sentence পুরটা লখা হয় না। ঐ ে indirect করার সময় তা পুরন কের
িলখেত হয়।
ii. একািধক উি র ে ঃ
Assertive: added/ further added/ also added/ again said
Interrogative: also asked/ again asked/ further asked
iii. Yes > replied in the affirmative and said that,
No > replied in the negative and said that
Or,
Sub+ aux.v+ not
Yes/ no না থাকেল replied (that হেব না)
iv. Allah/ by Jove/ by god/ by my life > swearing by (Allah/ Jove/ god/ my
life)
v. Reporting phrase এ বারিত অংশ িহেসেব present participle থাকেল তা েত
বসেব।
vi. যিদ কান sentence assertive হওয়া সেতও তার শেষ েবাধক িচ থােক তাহেল েত
being surprised হেব এবং তা interrogative এর িনয়েম হেব।
vii. Sentence এ pronoun এর পর noun থাকেল pronoun এর পিরবেত noun লখাই
য়।
