The Alchemist one of the most published novels, which it is sold more than 70 million books in
the world. That is written by a papular Brazilian writer ( Paulo Coelho), that published in 1988. It
originally written in portuguess, then it translated into 71 languages in the world. The Alchemist
isn’t just a novel, it’s the story of the Santiagos that disappointed of life because of problems or
any hard moments to make their dreams real. The Alchemist is the story of achieving love and
dreams, the story of finding the right way in the life and never giving up in that way. It’s
understanding those positive symbols that come to us in that way and never blindly stay them
away. As the writer said “whenever we want to achieve something, all of the macrocosm helps
for achieving.”

This book is about an Andalusian person, that he want to achieve his dream which traveling all
the world, because it’s his hobby, that’s why he decided to be a shawn because at that time the
only person that can travel all the times are merchants or shawns. He became a shawn of sheep.
He was born in an poor family, he became a very good shawn of his sheeps, all the day he lay
down on the grass and sang the story for sheeps, he thought that all the sheep can understand
what he said, but he didn’t know that the only thing that they want just clover and water . Then
he met a merchant and he want to sell the feece then he met the merchant’s daughter they talk
with each other, then he fall a love with her. And, he dreamed while he was sleeping. He decided
to see a see a woman to tell him what his dream means? She told him that : I’ll tell you what
your dream mean but promise me something he promised. Then, she said you’ll find a treasure
when you find it give me a half of your treasure. He hoped that this dream comes to real,
whenever hi find that treasure he can see the merchant’s daughter again and they can marry. He
decided to Egypt to find the treasure which the old woman talked about. His love for the
merchant’s daughter pushed him to find the treasure as soon as possible. Also, he met an old man
that gave him instructions how to get and reach the treasure. As a result, that old man was a king
of the town, and he gave the shawn two small rocks their name was Orem and toomim the king
said that these to small rocks helps you, just follow the symbols that comes to you and

understand them,but be careful . After that, he went to Tarifa and he sold all of his sheep to get
money and buy a camel to go to the pyramids to find the treasure. Then he met a boy at the inn
the boy knew spanish language and Arabic too, they started talking then they be came friends, in
a while the shawn saw a sward that he wanted to buy it, suddenly he notice that the boy stole all
of his money and ran away. He disappointed and didn’t know what to do and he started to wark
with a diamond merchant, he learnt Arabic and he met a girl on the well her name was Fatimah,
they talk with each other and he felt that he love Fatimah ghen he told her his feelings about her
then he told Fatimah whenever he find the treasure he came back and marry with her. At the end,
he found a crew they wanted to travel to Egypt, there he met a boy that he wanted to see a
chemist that can change lead into gold.

I like the book, because of the structure and the style of writing the book, I like these kind of
books, because it gives you the opportunity to think carefully and understand things with a lot of
thinking, words that are used to write the book kind of hard I think it isn’t easy to understand
without thinking about words and statements.

I recommend that book(The Alchemist) for those who are really enjoy with thinking and like
mysterious things. I give five stars for the book.
