2030- Leaders Role' in association with National Institute
of Personal Management, ThiruvananthapuramChapter was
held at TKM Institute of Management, Kollam on 6th
August 2022.Jb. T. K. Shahal Hassan Musaliar,
President, TKM College Trust & Chairman, TKM
Institute of Management chaired the inaugural ceremony.

He spoke on the roles a leader plays in shaping the future of

business organizations by adopting disruptive changes
created by technology and global competition.
Dr.ShajahanShamsuddeen, Director, TKMIM Addressed
the gathering. MeeraVenkat, CEO, Raise Global, Bengaluru, delivered the inauguraladdress.Technical sessions were
handled by experts Mr.K.V. Lakshminarayanan, Sr.HR &OD Professional, Infosys, Chennai, Mr.Vinod T, Head
Cybersecurity, UL Technology Solutions, Cochin, Mr. Joseph Babu, Director & Co-Founder, Riafy Technologies, and
Ms.Megha Sara Boby ,Head HR Operations ,Riafy Technologies Pvt Ltd.
 FACULTY TRAINING PROGRAM
A training program was organized for the faculty members
on 20th July 2022. Mr. Joseph Manuel, Alumnus of
Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and CEO &
Chief Mentor of First Discipline USA handled the session.
TIM ALUMNI MEET
A family meet of TIM 18 UAE Alumni was held at Al
Qusais, Dubai, on 8th July 2022, Dr.Manoj Krishnan C G,
Professor, TKMIM attended the same.

TIM Alumni Ernakulam chapter was formed on 20th

August 2022. Representatives from TIM and alumni
members attended the meeting.

ED & IIC PROGRAMME- ' ENTREPRENEURSHIP LESSONS: LEARN FROM MOVIES'

Entrepreneurship Club & Institution's Innovation Council of
TKM Institute of Management organized a programme on
“Entrepreneurship Lessons: Learn from Movies” on 14th june
2022. The movie “PunyalanAgarbathis” was screened and the
participants were given activities based on their evaluation of the
entrepreneurial activities discussed in the movie. A group discussion
was also conducted on the same.

CLUB ACTIVITIES

ENTERPRENURSHIP CLUB MARKETING CLUB

The weekly club activity hosted by Prof. AzharBasheer;
“Eureka” was conducted on 11th April 2022. The main
agenda of the program was the presentation of innovative
ideas by the participants. The panel of judges was
Dr.Viswanathan A., Dr.Aravind M, and Prof. Az-
harBasheer. The objective of the program was to screen the
participants for the upcoming National Level Idea
Hackathon.
The Marketing Club of TKMIM conducted an activity on
12th July 2022. The theme of the activity was "Marketing
Your Product”. The participants were divided into groups
and each group had to present their strategies for marketing
the new product that they have already selected, with a focus
on STP and Marketing Mix. The activity provided the
participants with an opportunity to reinforce their
understanding of STP (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning)
and Marketing Mix and how it is applied across various
product categories to sharpen their presentation skills.
 OPERATIONS CLUB ETHICS CLUB

OXYGEN-Operations Club of TIM organized a guest
session with Mr.LinuKurian, Partner and Managing Director
- Integrated Supply Chain Managed Services and
Solutions,Excomatix, USA. Being a proud alumnus of
theinstitute, Mr.Linu shared his experience with the TIM 27th
Batch students on July 8th 2022. He had an interactive
session with the students.
An ethics club activity was held on 5th April 2022 on the
theme “NSE Co-location Scam: The ethical Issues and
challenges”. It featured a video presentation of the infamous
NSE Scam, which was followed by an active discussion of
the same among the participants. The event was coordinated
by Dr.Aravind.M, Associate Professor, Finance, who led the
discussion and also shared key points as concluding remarks

WEBINAR ON“INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS”

A webinar was organized by TKM Institute of
Management on Intellectual Property Rights.Smt. Devika
R Nair, an examiner of Patents and Design for 6 years
in the Intellectual property office, DPIIT, Ministry of
Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India shared her
expert advice and knowledge about the field of Intellectual
Property Rights. Intellectual Property protection is critical
to fostering innovation. It protects original works of
authorship such as books, arts and other creative works.

NDLI CLUB ACTIVITY

TKM Institute of Management in association with the National Digital Library of India formed the NDLI Club at the
campus, under the supervision of Dr.Aravind M, Associate Professor, TKMIM and Mr.Abdul Majeed, Librarian, TKMIM.
National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources that is not just a repository with
search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by the
Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and
Communication Technology (NMEICT). All the student participants enrolled themselves in the programs and activities
associated with the club. Some of the programs conducted in association with the NDLI Club include: NDLI User
Awareness program conducted on May 12, 2022, NDLI Quiz on business and economy on May 13, 2022, Business Journal
Review on May 14, 2022, Planning the Reading Year 2022-23 May 16, 2022 ,Global Event: Training and Life of a Civil
Servant Jun 17, 2022.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT TIM

75TH Independence Day Celebration was held at the college where students, faculty, and staff pay tribute to the Nation and
the freedom fighters of India. TIM students, faculty, and staff gathered in the morning and participated in the flag hoisting
ceremony. The Director of the Institute Prof. Shajahan along with the administrator Mr.Sadiq S Thaha hoisted the
National flag. With due respect towards our Nation, everyone sang the National Anthem.

Shillong took charge as Director of TKM Institute
of Management on 1st July 2022.He is a
management specialist from Wharton and HBS whose
qualifications include MBA in Marketing and PhD in
Marketing Management with Fellowship and
Lectureship from UGC New Delhi and International
Finance Corporation, Washington,USA.

SPORTS DAY-SPINZ 2022

The Annual Sports Day ‘Spinz
2022’ was organized on 27th July
2022. The event was flagged off
with the Inaugural address by Prof.
Abdul KarimMusaliar,
Executive Director, TKM
Institute of Management. The
felicitation for the Inaugural
Ceremony was delivered by
Dr.Santhosh V.A, Dean,
TKMIM.
After the march-past and oath-
taking ceremony the two teams
Power Rangers and TIM Titans
fought for the Champions Trophy.
Apart from athletic events,
football, cricket, badminton,
basketball, and various indoor
games including carroms and
chess were conducted.
The highlight of the day was the
cricket match between the faculty
team and the student team. TIM
Titans were declared as overall
champions of the Sports Day.

WORKSHOP ON ‘DESIGN THINKING’

A workshop on Design Thinking was organized by TKM Institute of Managementon on 25th and 26th of july 2022, in
order to give the students more insight into the concepts of design thinking, product innovation, and strategic thinking.
Two-day sessions were held by Mr.ImtiazMusaliar, who is a specialist in Creative and Strategic thinking. He has worked
with companies such as Tyson Foods, SC Johnson, Dyson & Steel Case, USA. Students acquiring design thinking skills
are able to identify and develop innovative and creative solutions to problems as and when they face them and could
transform themselves as optimistic, empathetic, and smart working members of society who can solve complex challenges
of the coming future.

career choice is discussed in the
seminar. The first 50 attendees
received a free 6-month
subscription to ‘The Week’
magazine.

FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS

● Prof. AzharBasheer became a member of the preliminary idea evaluation panel of KDISC. He had
completed an evaluation of 35 ideas as assigned by KDISC.
● Prof Azhar Basheer published a two-part article in the vernacular newspaper Madhyamam about
'Digitalizing Retail Sector in Kerala'. The Article came both in print and Madhyamam’s online portal.
● Dr.Aravind got selected as a member of the review panel for the journal ‘Global Business’ Review,
Published by Sage (Scopus indexed ABDC listed Journal)
● Prof. Nisha completed the Nptel/Swayam course on "Behavioral and Personal Finance" with Elite
Certificate from IIT Kharagpur. (8-week course - Jan to March 2022)
● Dr.Archana took a session for career guidance for 10th and 12th students of SreeGurudeva Central School
on 26th May 2022.
● Prof.Nisha participated in a one-week online FDP on "Teaching and Collaborative Learning for Business
Education", organized by the Department of Management Studies, GurukulaKangri (Deemed University), Haridwar.
● Prof. AzharBasheer delivered a session at the Translational research and Professional Leadership center
(TPLC) of Government Engineering College Bartonhill for second-year PG students on Entrepreneurship on the
Topic “Financial & Legal Aspects of Startups”
● Dr. Manoj Krishnan has been nominated as a member of the CII - Sub Committee (South Zone) for
Education, Skills & HR, for the year 2023.
● Dr. Manoj Krishnan CG &Mr. Mohammed Ashraf represented the institute and participated in the
Confluence on Cyber Security organized by Palo Alto Inc, Bengaluru. The program was held at The Leela Palace,
Bengaluru.
● Prof. Nisha was selected as a member of the Board of Question Paper setter for the MBA program at
Saintgits Institute of Management.
● Prof Manoj Krishnan has become an Advisory Committee Member for the International Conference on
Integrating Industry and Science for Economic Wellbeing and Sustainability, organized by Guru Nanak College
