What I learned from this module Academic Business Skills for Postgraduate in brief was how I

can ensure success in business writings for my professional career. I gained a wider perspective
on business writing as I went from conducting research to citing and referencing a journal,
producing content, proofreading, and presenting the data. However, what I learned was not
enough and as per the feedbacks provided my tutors and peers, I had to do more research and
learn how to structure my works. I also attended workshops and participated in activities which
made me feel apprehensive and also watched lots of relevant videos of this course. I did two
assignments that is annotated bibliography and business report including a presentation
throughout this module. Though the marks were average, I did get feedbacks from tutors and
peers regarding my assignments and presentations on what I should make amendment and how I
can improve. So, what I have learned is that even though I recognized what was happening, I
could not apply it on my assignments. These assessments also taught me how often I should
communicate with my tutor when I had doubts on any of the assignments I was given. I should
have tried to search for more materials to research for my work and go extra miles to learn on the
structuring of my work. I felt a joy attending workshops and activities but it is also a little
disheartening that I could not actively participate in discussions and reflect on it. As per the
feedback, I could have done better in the report by conducting more research, improving my
report structuring and making sure to follow the instruction of the assigned work. Lastly, I
realized how presentation can be nerve-cracking when you are unsure of the report you have.
Now what I should do is take the feedbacks from my tutors and peers as a positive comment and
bring in change accordingly which will develop my communication abilities in a professional
setting. I will go extra miles to search through journal articles for research and go through videos
and notes on report structuring. From next time, I am also planning to be a active participants in
the class’s discussion, initiate discussions and use appropriate business forms and conventions
and adhere to the rules of academic honesty while demonstrating my ability to communicate in
both written and spoken form in a professional setting. I will then improve my presentation skills
at the same time.
