Dear Dr. Abrojena,

The Cooperative plays an indispensable role in the country’s economic recovery brought by the onslaught of the
pandemic. There are around fourteen (14) million cooperative members and around eight thousand (8,000) primary
cooperatives. A significant number among cooperatives belong to the Consumers, Marketing, Producers and Logistics
(CMPL) cooperative cluster. Our cluster commits to become future –ready, revitalized, resilient and relevant cluster,
responsive to the demands of Society 5.0.

The consultative body of the cluster is the Sectoral Apex Organization as provided in Rule IX, IRR of RA No. 11364.
Its powers, functions and responsibilities is to develop and formulate, in consultation with the cooperative sector and
other concerned institutions, appropriate regulations, standards, rules, orders, guidelines and/or circulars to implement
the Act and R.A. No. 9520 to ensure the effective and sound operation of cooperatives (Sec. 4 par. (a), RA No.
11364).

As part of our continuing program of establishing consultation mechanism, we will hold the first – ever National
Summit. The said 2022 CMPL National Summit will be held on December 1 to 3, 2022 at the Centennial Arena,
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. The CMPL Summit is a national convergence of all the primary and secondary cooperative
leaders under the Consumers, Marketing, Producers and Logistics Cluster. This will primarily allow also for a
convergence of other sectors needed to complete the CMPL Integrated Business Enterprise Framework, formation of
National Federation for CMPL Clusters and revitalizing the commitment of CDA to CMPL Cluster and vice – versa.
Another goal of this summit is to discuss the issues and concerns of CMPL in the national scope, create a platform of
exchange of ideas, establish collaboration and develop capabilities among CMPL key cooperative leaders.

In this light, may we have the honor to invite one of your faculty members as the Plenary Speaker on the topic,
“Post Pandemic Consumer Care: Tech Threats, Challenges and Opportunities ” at four o’clock in the
afternoon of Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Centennial Arena, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. May we also request for
his/her short biography to be published in the souvenir program of the said summit.
