ABSTRACT

The study was designed to investigate the effects of e-learning during COVID-19 on students’

education among university students. The population of the study was the students of three

public universities of Southern Punjab. Data were collected from the students of Bachelor,

Master and MS/M.phil programs. About equal consideration was given to the male and female

students. A questionnaire was administered for the purpose of data gathering. Questionnaire was

comprised of three parts in which demographic information, close ended questions and open

ended questions were included. Descriptive statistics were used to for demographic analysis of

the sample. The collected information was analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social

Sciences (SPSS). Mean and standard deviation were computed to measure the effects of e-

learning during COVID-19 on students’ education among university students. The t-test of

independent samples was applied for the comparison of male and female university students

from the selected universities about the effects of e-learning. Major findings were revealed that

the students showed their positive response towards online learning due to COVID-19 threat. It

was found that there were few significant differences between the opinion of male and female

students about the effects of e-learning on students’ education during COVID-19. The most

important issue that was found in the e-learning was the lack of internet in backward areas.

Students faced the problem using e-learning tools in which zoom and Facebook are most

important. The other problems included lack of feedback, assessment methods, lack of

electronic devices with costly internet i.e PCs and laptops and awareness about how to use these

tools and devices effectively.
