Christian Aid Thank you to everyone who signed our joint Christmas card. We

Skelton Village Trust Speaker Evening Thursday February 4th, 7.30pm in
the Village Hall. "A Gateway to History: the new York Explore Archives and
Local History Service". A presentation by Laura Yeoman from the York City

Police Surgery for Skelton Ward Wednesday February 24th, from 6pm in the
Mobile Police Office (VW Transporter) which will be parked outside the Village
Hall. Residents are invited to come along and talk to our Safer Neighbourhood
Officer, PCSO Annie Lumley-Holmes about any issues.
Mobile Library in Skelton. The Mobile Library visits Skelton every two weeks.
As well as borrowing books & audio books, you can update your library card or
York Card, return books from any other York library, & request books to be
brought to Skelton for you to borrow. The library stops in Fairfields Drive from
2.00pm to 2.45pm & Brecksfield from 2.50pm to 4.00pm. Mondays February

Commissioning service for Stephanie Brodie and Kathy Peacock as RPAs
(Recognized Parish Assistants), Sunday February 28th at 3pm. in Shipton
Parish Church. Please come along and support
Shipton Community Cafe - every Tuesday at Shipton Space, The Methodist
Chapel, 2pm until 4.30pm. Refreshments, homemade cakes, fresh produce,

Thank you to everybody who supported the ‘Plants & Flowers Quiz’ by
either buying one or selling them. Following a draw to choose the winner, the
quiz was won by Barbara Straw from North Frodingham near Driffield.
Particular thanks to the Dawnay Arms, Shipton; Brooke’s; Skelton Post Office;
Linton stores & to Alan Easterbrook who all helped sell quizzes. In total £289
was raised for Shipton Church funds. Thank you

Middleton School Foundation. Applications are invited for grants offered
from the above Charity. Grants are available to persons under the age of 25 &
who live, or whose parents live, in the Parishes of Shipton or Overton. Grants
are available for costs associated with academic or vocational training. Grants
are at the discretion of Trustees & applications will not be considered for
expenditure that has been incurred more than six months prior to the date of
application. Applications must always include full details of the costs incurred,
proof of expenditure, name, address, date of birth & an email address for any
queries. Parents or guardians may apply on behalf of persons aged 17 years

Newton on Ouse Parish Hall 100 Club The first draw of 2016 took place on
January 1st and the lucky winners were: Ann Brown £30 (number 50); Derek

Roof Repair Project awarded £10,000 grant. All Saints has been awarded a
Repair Grant from the National Churches Trust to help fund the repair project.
We are very close to our target of £258,000 so any individuals or businesses
who haven’t got around to sponsoring a slate – now is the time! Forms

Musical Coffee Morning (with piano) will be held on Saturday February 20th
