pinakamabilis tumakbo sa lahat sa
inyo,” sabi ni Kuneho. “Wala nang
bibilis pa sa akin! Sa kahit anong
paligsahan, siguradong panalo ako.”

“Naku, Kuneho, wala ka nang ibang
sinabi kung hindi gaano ka kabilis
tumakbo,” sabi ni Pagong.
“Hinahamon kita sa isang paligsahan!”
“Ikaw? Hinahamon mo ako?” tanong
ni Kuneho.
“Oo,” sagot ni Pagong.

“Hindi mo ako matatalo!” sabi ni
Kuneho.
“Mas mabilis akong tumakbo! Baka
tapos na akong tumakbo e nagsisimula
ka pa lang.”
“Malalaman natin ‘yan bukas ng
umaga,” sabi naman ni Pagong.

“Kapana-panabik ito! Sino kaya ang
mananalo?” sabi ni Buwaya.
“Kawawa naman si Pagong, ang bagal
niyang gumalaw. Siguradong matatalo
siya,” sabi naman ni Elepante.
“Kahit mabagal siya ay hindi naman siya
tumitigil sa pagtakbo. Baka naman may
pag-asa si Pagong,” sabi ni Unggoy.

Kinabukasan, dumating ang lahat ng
hayop para manood ng paligsahan.
“Magandang umaga, Kuneho,” bati ni
Pagong. “Handa na ako. Ikaw, handa ka
na ba?”
“Siyempre, handa na ako. Madali kitang
matatalo. Kahit gaano ka kabilis, mas
mabilis pa rin ako,” sabi ni Kuneho.

“Isa, dalawa…takbo!” sigaw ni Elepante.
Nagsimula na ang takbuhan. Tumakbo
nang mabilis si Kuneho pero tumigil siya
para maglaro.
“Ang layo pa ni Pagong. May oras pa
akong maglaro,” sabi ni Kuneho.
Nahuhuli man si Pagong sa kaniya ay
hindi ito tumigil sa pagtakbo.

“Ang layo pa rin ni Pagong.
Puwede pa siguro akong maidlip
nang sandali,” sabi ni Kuneho.
Dahil akala niya’y marami pa siyang
oras, natulog sandali si Kuneho.

na siya sa katapusan ng paligsahan.

Kuneho. Pero huli na ang lahat.
Natapos na ang paligsahan. Nanalo na
si Pagong!

Sabi ni Pagong, “Alalahanin mo na

kahit ang mabagal, basta’t tuloy-tuloy
ay maaaring manalo!”

“Yan ang Bangui Wind Farm,” sabi ni
Kuya Mike. “Wind turbine ang tawag
sa mga ‘yan. Itinayo ang mga ‘yan
noong 2005. Itinayo ang mga ito sa
Bangui dahil walang mga bahay at
gusali na maaaring makasagabal sa
mga ito.”

“Bakit itinayo ang mga wind turbine?
Anong gamit nila?” tanong ni Ben.
“Para malaman natin kung malakas
ang hangin?”
“Naku, hindi, Ben,” natawa si Kuya
Mike. “May importanteng gamit ang
mga wind turbine. Ang mga wind
turbine ang nagsusuplay sa atin ng
koryente.”

“Paano nakakagawa ang mga ito ng
koryente?” tanong ni Ben.
“Ang mga propeler ay nakakonekta sa
isang motor. Kapag umiihip ang hangin,
umiikot ang propeler at umiikot din ang
motor. Kapag tuloy-tuloy na umiikot
ang motor, nakakagawa ito ng
koryente,” sagot ni Kuya Mike.

“Alam mo, Ben, itinayo ang mga wind
turbine sa dalampasigan ng
Bangui Bay dahil malakas ang hangin
dito. Kung mapupuna mo nakaharap
sa dagat ang mga propeler dahil
ang ihip ng hangin ay nagmumula sa
dagat,” sabi ni Kuya Mike.

ng koryente na di gumagamit ng fossil
fuel tulad ng gasolina,” sabi ni Kuya

“Nagdudulot kasi ng polusyon ang
pagsunog ng fossil fuel,” paliwanag
ni Kuya Mike.

“Ang malaganap na paggamit ng
fossil fuel ay di nakabubuti sa ating
kalusugan at kalikasan. Halimbawa na
lang ‘yung acid rain. Ang acid rain ay
nagmumula sa polusyong dulot ng
paggamit ng fossil fuel. Nasisira ang
mga gubat at halaman natin dahil
sa acid rain,” sabi ni Kuya Mike.
