Skelton Gardening Club. There will be no meeting in December. Next
meeting Thursday January 15th, 7.30pm, Village Hall.
Skelton Village Walking Group. Departing from the village green at
9:30am on Saturday December 6th for a gentle six mile circular stroll from
Ripon taking in Studley Royal parkland and ending with a pub lunch in

Service of Lessons and Carols, Wednesday December 17th at 6.30pm
in St. Giles Church. Please join us to sing your favourite carols and hear
the Christmas story. All are welcome and refreshments will be served after
the service.
Christingle and Nativity, on Sunday December 21st at 3.00pm in Skelton
Church. Join us for Christmas at the North Pole. Children come in costume
Mary, Joseph, King, Shepherd or Angel and join our annual nativity parade
during the service. Hot chocolate and mince pies at the end of the service.
Jill & Ken Humphreys would like to thank everyone who supported the
coffee morning on November 8th . Thanks to peoples’ generosity for this
good cause, we were able to take £543 to St Leonard’s Hospice.
Skelton Village Action Group (York Local Plan) Saturday December
13th, 9 - 11am at Skelton Village Hall. Julian Sturdy, our local MP for York
Outer, will be holding a Public Question and Answer meeting on the Local
Plan Publication Draft proposals for the Skelton area. Julian Sturdy is
strongly opposed to the Clifton Gate development and the Action Group
urges residents to attend the meeting to show their interest and support.
Police Surgery for Skelton Ward The next surgery will be held in
Skelton Village Hall on Tuesday December 9th from 5.00 - 6.00pm.
Residents are invited to come along & talk to our Safer Neighbourhood
Officer, PCSO Grace Silvester about any issues
Skelton Community Primary School are currently seeking enthusiastic
volunteers from the Skelton Community to form a new Friends of Skelton
School Fundraising Committee. If you can give some time to help
organise fundraising events with parents, staff & governors, please let us
know. As a COMMUNITY SCHOOL, it would be good to include the ideas
& enthusiasm of some of the retired members of our community as well as
others of all ages who are looking to become involved in a worthwhile

Mobile Library in Skelton. The Mobile Library visits Skelton every two
weeks. As well as borrowing books and audio books, you can update your
library card or York Card, return books from any other York library, and
request books to be brought to Skelton for you to borrow. The library stops
in Fairfields Drive from 2.05pm to 3.05pm and Brecksfield from 3.10pm to

Christmas Quiz fundraiser for Shipton Parish Church is on sale again!
Can you solve the clues to name the 50 British birds? Quiz sheets cost £1
with a £10 prize! Closing date for entries is January 9th, so get one for the

York Minster have given us 10 free admission tickets for entry. If you wish
to borrow them they will be available at the Sunday services
Easingwold food bank now have enough food for immediate needs but
would like to receive financial donations to buy specific foods for gluten
free diets etc. & also to have names of anyone who would benefit from a
food parcels. The drop in centre in Easingwold on Monday nights is now
