Intramurals Reflection Paper

Day before, during, and after SportsFest '22 with the theme, "Wholesome
Sportsmanship: The Avenue in Upholding the AMMC's Dream." In this era, students were given
the opportunity to explore beyond their holistic development, and so I did. Although it was not
easy to be part of this yearly event, there were a lot of things we had to make and prepare
mentally and physically for, such as reviewing for the quiz bee, preparing snacks for our players,
building our team’s sheath or booth, and more.

This year’s event marks my last intramurals as a student of AMMC. I really had to do my
best and make this year’s intramurals really memorable as I leave this institution soon. I didn’t
get to participate in any sports or other activities like dances or musical this year, but I did
participate in the literary competition as part of my academic engagement this year as part of the
Palaro Quiz Bee. Furthermore, I was appointed "TikTok" Chairperson in our Department by our
beloved governor, Janryl Zozobrado. Also, I voluntarily extended my effort as an organizer
during the screening process of Miss AMMC in the College of Teacher Education. It took away
entirely of my free time, though it was all worthwhile when the review went productively
fulfilling, as we had won the SECOND PLACE for the quiz bee during the actual competition
together with my team, Raymar Languban and John Cloyd Babor. Our delegate, Keiza Ledesma,
also got the first runner-up title for Miss AMMC 2022, and Soaring Eagle got champion for the
Tiktok competition, and even more. I was so honored to be part of the "Soaring Eagle" team. We
had proven our capacity as a team; we endured and pursued this year’s intramurals with passion,
unity, integrity, and respect. As we are guided by the principles, ideals, and excellent aspiration
of our institution in reaching our dreams, we, AMMCians, uphold the true color and spirit of
sportsmanship and camaraderie towards our goals, not defeating one another because we are one
family. In addition, I felt so grateful seeing our sheath or booth; it was built really well and
looked nice during the whole intramural. During the succeeding days, I watched and supported
my teams’ and friends’ games and also cheered for my whole team. I had so much fun with my
circle of friends, Gizelle May Tik-ing, Charito Mundoy, Kayezelle, Norhanna, Janryl, Omaira,
Xyra, Raymar, and others, on the first day and even for the entire duration of the intramurals.
Most of them were part of the committee since they're school officers, both CSC and
departmental.

As I had experienced, intramurals are also the time where you get to know more of your
schoolmates and where you get to make new friends on your team. Moreover, during the events,
my inner determination was brought out, as was my cooperation. However, there were some
issues, and the competition was heated. I believe this cannot be avoided in any competition. It
just shows how much school spirit we have and how determined we are to win. Intramurals were
a week of hectic and fun, at least for me. It was nice to have a break from schoolwork and
teachers’ lectures. Our team, the "Soaring Eagle," dominated the first place overall. All our
blood, sweat, and tears were worthy.

All in all, many lessons can be learned from intramurals. It endorses health and fitness
and values as well. I gained values such as teamwork, unity, school spirit, cooperation, and
determination that I could apply throughout my life. In context, intramurals had a great impact
on me as I learned that it is not about winning against anyone in a game or competition, but
rather about winning against negativity that embodies you as a person or as a fighter. It takes
quality and a positive attitude to soar like an eagle. I am looking forward to next year’s
intramurals, hoping I can witness the intramurals of Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial Colleges
again because I am a proud AMMCian.
