List 3 insights you learned from the lecture today and how you can apply it in your life.

1. Psychology is not about reading your minds, but it is scientific processes that makes hypothesis
and rationale explanation based on the external behavior of human.
This method is really important for me to know more about myself or even in any aspect of life. I
can apply this by asking questions about myself, using the Socratic method in order to examine
my self. It is applicable to me when I am so confused about uncertain things. By this, I can
address my uncertain situations by describing the situation, explaining the issue, predicting the
possible outcome and thinking about how to control the problem.
2. Equilibration relates to assimilation and accomodation
As a human that doesn't have enough knowledge about the surroundings, since learning is a
constant equilibration, it is a useful way to easily adjust our cognitive development. This concept
is separated into two; the assimilation that you are compatible with what one already knows
and accommodation, which changes existing knowledge based on new knowledge. It is very
applicable for me to explore new things and easily adapt to them. For me to do this, I should
balance between applying my existing knowledge and adapting my behavior to new
information. Still, I engaged in examining myself.
3. True Vs. False self
Since I am in the stage of building my future, I am uncertain about my future. In deciding my
course in college, false selfs exist, but I step on the healthy false self. I was not my true self
pertaining to my course in college because of financial factors. Thus, I fall for the false self,
specifically a healthy false self. I don't carry the unhealthy one because I guess it serves as a
deprivation about your true self. For me, if I can't go on to my true self due to many factors, I'll
stick to the healthy false self rather than the unhealthy one. In every difficult situation, I will still
be connected to my true self.
