The data were analyzed in a qualitative description. The
results of this study indicate that the formulation of the
learning objectives is that students should receive
marine education that is integrated with natural science
learning in schools, students should be taught using
methods of learning that are contextual within the daily
problems in the student's home environment, ie
problem-based learning/problem-solving models,
students should be taught using interactive learning aids
such as media based on information technology such as
mobile learning, the assessments to be developed
include 3 aspects namely cognitive, affective and
psychomotor.

teachers and two conventional ones were taken as the
subjects of the research using purposive sampling
technique. The results of the research showed that (1) In
educating role, both ICT and conventional teachers act
as models who possess emphatic feeling towards their
students and environment. If the conventional teachers
teach students at boat class conventionally using printed
modules, the ICT teachers make use of ICT applications
such as WhatsApp beside the use of printed modules,(2)
In mentoring role, conventional teachers display their
patience and loyalty to provide unrestricted knowledge
to students inside and outside the classroom whereas
ICT teachers provide students with more flexible
services using social media applications in discussing
the student worksheet and giving feedback,(3) In
managerial role, conventional teachers organize the
class directly so that the class becomes quiet,
convenient, and students do not disturb each other.
Differently, ICT teachers manage the class virtually
from planning to evaluation. The teaching materials and
worksheet are not only given in printed modules but
also uploaded online via Whatssapp. and (4) In
evaluating role, onventional teachers evaluate the
students' cognitive competence by using printed test.
However, ICT teachers make use of technological aids
in evaluating students' competence and skill. The test is
made in google form and its link is sent to students so
that the students can do it wherever and whenever they
are available.

To help close the gap between the development levels of
rural and urban areas, the Taiwanese government has
initiated the local revitalization movement. The Ministry
of Education in Taiwan is also encouraging universities
in social responsibility and local revitalization. A
number of universities have therefore brought their
teams to the coastal areas. However, among the research
being done about universities carrying out social
responsibility projects in coastal areas, few have
investigated the university role and the indispensable
elements for future success. This study adopted a
qualitative study method and collected and analyzed
various sources of data. It first analyzed local
revitalization and USR (University Social
Responsibility) program in Taiwan. Then it focused on
using case studies to explore two university teams that
promoted the university social responsibility program in
coastal revitalization. Stakeholder interviews were
conducted to understand the role which Taiwanese
universities play. Finally, suggestions for indispensable
elements of university assisting coastal revitalization are
proposed.

RETRACTED ARTICLE: Evaluation of solar energy
potential based on artificial intelligence and
optimization of college English courses in coastal areas
Qian Wang, Yiqi Yu
Arabian Journal of Geosciences 14 (11), 1-18, 2021
Due to the increasing shortage of traditional energy
sources and the deterioration of the environment, the
development and use of renewable energy sources have
been exhausted. As one of the potential renewable
energy sources using artificial intelligence, solar energy
has attracted worldwide attention due to its high-quality
resources. The development and utilization of solar
energy is regarded as an effective means to solve the
global energy crisis and climate problems, and the
development and utilization of solar energy resources
are increasing year by year. In this article, solar energy
is selected as the research object. Based on the
collection of large amounts of data and links to previous
studies, the reserves of solar energy resources in China
have been estimated and the spatial characteristics
described. In addition to the conditions of the data itself,
other factors affecting the large-scale development and
use of solar energy are also analyzed. Through the
establishment of an index system for the first time and
the use of decision analysis methods to comprehensively
evaluate the potential of large-scale development and
utilization of solar energy in various regions of
mainland China, this also provides ideas for the
development and utilization of new energy potential in
various regions in the future. Finally, under the teaching
reform model, based on the imbalance phenomenon in
college English teaching, based on empirical evidence
and hypothesis, it provides a framework for optimizing
the university environmental curriculum. The research
results provide a practical starting point and reference
value for improving the teaching quality of English
courses in coastal colleges and universities, improving
the teaching mode, and promoting the development of
the lifelong learning concept of students and teachers.

importance to these discussions is the need to explore
notions of ‘belonging’ and social citizenship,
interrogating the extent to which differing perceptions
and experiences contribute towards variations in the
outcomes and life chances of disadvantaged young
people. This article draws upon ethnography,
participatory arts-based research, and semi-structured
interviews (n31) with young people (15–25) who live in
a deprived coastal town in the North of England. The
research investigated processes of marginalization and
disconnection from the perspectives of young people
who were deemed as disengaged, or ‘at risk’ of
disengagement, from education, employment or
training. The research took place during a time of rapid
change and uncertainty as Britain voted to leave the EU.
The findings of this study will ‘throw light’ on the how
contemporary classed subjectivities are formed, how
experiences of inequality and austerity are made sense
of, and how, within a turbulent political context, young
people negotiate complex transitions to adulthood.

10.1007/s12517-021-07255-4 Today, most students in coastal cities in China were
born after the 1990s. They have been spoiled by the
older generation since they were young. They grew up
under the protection of their parents. Most of them are
flowers in the greenhouse. Now, they have entered the
university, carrying the double expectations of society
and family. All these pressures, such as learning
knowledge, improving skills, etc., come and make them
feel confused. Strong self-esteem, personal resistance,
and more or less selfish combination of these factors
have a huge impact on the psychology of students in
coastal cities. In view of the current situation, this article
expounds the importance of mental health education for
students in coastal cities, clarifies the current problems
and causes of mental health in colleges and universities,
and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to
solve these problems. The corresponding drop in
seawater temperature is an important thermodynamic
index that affects coastal climate. This paper selects the
environmental climate data of a given coast at 21
locations on a given coast from 1972 to 2020, combines
the intermediate data of ERA, and uses a comprehensive
analysis method to study the climatic characteristics of
sea fog on a given coast. Two dates in ERA-Interim and
ICOADS were used to compare and analyze the spatial
distribution of coastal sea temperature field from 1984
to 2018 and the temporal and spatial distribution
characteristics of coastal marine climate environment.
Based on artificial intelligence algorithms, this article
successfully optimized the original prediction model and
effectively improved the prediction accuracy of the
model. The final forecasting model can not only be
applied to forecasting, but also because after improving
it, it can make efficient and highly accurate forecasts
based on a wide range of economic and other fields of
data.

on the correct evaluation of key inputs such as return
period of flooding events, vulnerability of exposed
assets, and other risk factors (e.g., spatial distribution of
elements at risk, their economic value, etc.). This paper
defines a methodology to assess the effects of flooding
events associated with basin run-off and storm surge in
coastal areas. The assessment aims at quantifying in
economic terms (e.g., loss of assets) the risk of coastal
areas subject to flooding events. The methodology
proposed in this paper was implemented to determine
the areas subject to inundation on a coastal area in
Southern Italy prone to hydrogeological instability and
coastal inundation. A two-dimensional hydraulic model
was adopted to simulate storm surges generated by
severe sea storms coupled with intense rainfalls in order
to determine the areas subject to inundation in the low-
land area along the Adriatic coast object of this study. In
conclusion, the economic risk corresponding to four
different flooding scenarios was assessed by correlating
the exceedance probability of each flooding scenario
with the potential economic losses that might be realized
in the inundated areas. The results of the assessment can
inform decision-makers responsible for the deployment
of risk mitigation measures.

Mediterranean area, recent climate change studies
forecast large impacts on the hydrologic cycle. Thus, in
the next years, surface and ground-water resources will
be gradually more stressed, especially in coastal areas.
In this review paper, the historical and geographical
distribution of peer-review studies and the main
mechanisms that promote aquifer salinization in the
Mediterranean area are critically discussed, providing
the state of the art on topics such as actual saltwater
wedge characterization, paleo-salinities in coastal areas,
water-rock interactions, geophysical techniques aimed at
delineating the areal and vertical extent of saltwater
intrusion, management of groundwater overexploitation
using numerical models and GIS mapping techniques
for aquifer vulnerability to salinization. Each of the
above-mentioned approaches has potential advantages
and drawbacks; thus, the best tactic to tackle coastal
aquifer management is to employ a combination of
approaches. Finally, the number of studies focusing on
predictions of climate change effects on coastal aquifers
are growing but are still very limited and surely need
further research.

grandparents and young people from 21 families living
with autism in West Norfolk and Cornwall shared their
experience through semi-structured interviews that were
conducted in early 2019. Families identified positive
and negative aspects of living in these areas, including
barriers preventing access to and inclusion in education.
Barriers were related to poor infrastructure, sparse
specialized services (resulting in diagnostic delay and
difficulties), limited autism awareness, lack of trained
professionals, and the impact of austerity across health,
social care and education. Families' struggles are
amplified by the intersectionality of: (1) autism-specific
needs; (2) physical distance and small-community life
related to rurality; and (3) the seasonal and peripheral
nature of coastal life. Access to education for children
with autism in rural coastal areas of England could be
improved by acknowledging and addressing the
intersecting factors intensifying their marginalization.

the notion of the insistent affirmation of possibility, we
then discuss three dimensions of active social justice
undertaken by participating school leaders. By

The analyses of data and discussion form an
understanding of how policy is enacted in relation to the
dual responsibility that school leaders negotiate between
the local context at Sea town and Ofsted. This paper
suggests that Ofsted forces a privileging of a compliant
and consistent enactment of policy; a hyper-enactment
of policy, that reduces the capacity of school leaders to
address the significant social context of the school.
Foucault's work on self-disciplinary technologies
provides insight into the micropolitical spaces which
open up for some school leaders. The discussion on the
micropolitics of compliance and resistance offers insight
into the tensions pertinent to school leadership teams
and explores issues relevant to those interested in policy
and inspection activity, particularly those within areas of
deprivation.

on the sequence of tasks but require intervention so they
can apply it to other situations without engaging in
activities. Further research is required for more in-depth
exploration on thinking process, instruction types, and
behaviors that students might display independently
without using traditional games in solving integer word
problems.

its borders. In the official Italian-Slovenian bilingual
area the "Littoral school system model" has been in
place since 1959, requiring, in addition to establishing
minority Italian schools, the compulsory teaching of the
Italian language in all mainstream schools (Italian as
L2), the teaching discussed in this paper. Nevertheless,
Italian is not perceived as the language of the territory
any longer; indeed, students at the end of
elementary/middle school (15 years) typically reach a
very low level of proficiency in Italian. Through an
explanatory study based on the perceptions and
perspectives of mainstream elementary/middle school
Italian teachers we tried to identify the possible areas of
investigation so as to understand the reasons of this
decline and discover potential new ways of teaching.
Moreover, examples of newly tried teaching approaches
are introduced as new possible teaching and learning
methods.

10.1080/21632324.2020.1742504 were done in six unions of Banshkhali Upazila in
?journalCode=rmad20 Chittagong district. The result showed that agriculture
and fishing practices are reducing compared to the past
and people are more interested in migrating abroad.
Among the six villages, the highest percentage of
migration was found to be from the areas closer to the
coast compared to others. Despite less awareness on
climate change terms, most of the respondents have
positively replied to the changes in the frequencies of
climatic hazards. Several forms of driver, e.g.
environmental, social and political are also discussed.
The linear regression showed that the factors which
positively influence the peoples’ decision to migrate are
average family age and social status. The dependency
on agriculture, business near coast and fishing has a
coefficient of −0.18, −0.36 and −0.24, respectively.
Identification of community-based needs is important to
ensure safe migration as an adaptation against climate
change.

genetic diversity of the pathogen populations by simple
sequence repeat (SSR) marker analysis. The majority of
the isolates collected were virulent at various
frequencies on the resistance genes Yr1 (50%), Yr6
(100%), Yr7 (78%), Yr8 (50%), Yr9 (84%), Yr10

(6%), and avirulent on Yr5 and Yr15. Based on the
analysis of virulence, all isolates were determined as 25
races and clustered into six virulence groups (VGs). In
contrast, the isolates clustered into four molecular
groups (MGs) based on genotypic data. All four MGs
were found in Aegean region of Turkey, while only
three MGs (MG1, MG2 and MG3) were found in the
Mediterranean region of the country. Additionally,
analysis of molecular variance indicated that 80.9% of
genetic variation was found within regions and 19.1%
was found between the regions. The results suggest that
interregional migration of the pathogen was high. The
data can be helpful for the management of stripe rust
and understanding the population structure and
migration of Pst in Turkey.

vegetation? examine the spatio-temporal changes suffered by the
redirectedFrom=fulltext vegetation in the coastline of Siponto in Apulia Region
(Southern Italy) covering a time period of about forty
years. LANDSAT images from 1975, 2006, 2011 and
2018 were collected, atmospherically corrected and,
finally, processed to generate binary classification maps
of vegetation by applying the Composite Vegetation
Index, a novel index based on the interpolation of Red,
Green and Near-Infrared bands, suitable for catching
both cellular and metabolic features of vegetation. Then,
the generated binary classification maps were compared
using the Vegetation Index Differencing technique, a
post-classification change detection technique. The
results showed an increase in vegetation extension cover
and density overall the entire examined period. That
phenomenon appeared more and more prominent
between 1975 and 2006, where an increment of
vegetated areas extension of about 88% were registered.
Combining of the novel vegetation index, developed ad-
hoc in the current research, and Vegetation Index
Differencing approach shows promising results in
vegetation classification and comparison over the time.
Indeed, the method allows the fast vegetation extraction,
great processing time saver. Nevertheless, spatial
resolution of Landsat Images limits the classification of
small and low-density vegetated areas. Therefore, future
work should plan to test the proposed approach at a
more detailed scale.
