Monday 16 September:

08:30 Depart hotel in Assuit to El Badary

10:00 - 10:30 a.m Visit to the pomegranate farms in El Badary;

Meet with farmers who are applying good post harvest practices that they
received from FAS project

10:30 am Depart El Badary to El Bosra

11:15 – 13:00 - Meet with around 30 pomegranate farmers at a collection tent of a lead
farmer. These farmers were registered and coded through the support of
FAS project.
- See the process of packing the pomegranate on cold trucks, to be
exported.
- Handing over the protective clothes, provided by FAS project, to the
pomegranate farmers who were coded

13:00 – 13:45 Depart Al Bosra to Assuit

17:00 Honoring ceremony including distribution of certificates and coding

licences to the associations and lead farmers, and business dinner.
The event will be attended by:

- Dr Ibrahim Serrour, Under Secretary of Agriculture in Assuit
- AEC
- Agriculture quarantine
- Mr Mahmoud Atta and Mr Samir Abdel Shakour, MALR horticulture
department

Tuesday 17 September:

08:30 Depart hotel in Assuit to El Badary

10:00 - 11:00 a.m - Inauguration of the collection tent established through FAS grant in Al
Badary, in the presence of the government officials
- Meet with buyers who are connected to the pomegranate farmers
through FAS project
- See post harvest processes like sorting, grading, packaging and
packing of pomegranate, to be exported.

11:00 – 12 noon Media interviews (pending the approval of Dom on inviting the Assuit
local media to make some media coverage, interview FAS COP, Ministry
officials and the farmers)

12:00 Depart AL Badary to Assuit

12:45 – 14:00 Honoring ceremony including distribution of the “NFSA white list
certificate” to the collections tents who are coded, and business lunch
