Before You Begin.
‘The $1 TITAN isan X-ray generating device and should only be operated by individuals who have completed
an approved radiation safety program. Refer to the S4 TITAN User Guide for information related to the safe
‘operation of the $1 TITAN,
Step 1
Insert a fuly-charged battery, er connect an approved AC adapter. Press the
ower switch, Wait forthe Logon Screen to appear, Tap the Logon button.
| Log on tothe analyzer by entering the operator passcode. A Relation Warning
message will display, Squeeze and release the tiger to continue.
Step 3
‘Select the aplication which matches your sample type from the APPLICATION
‘menu. By defaul, the $1 TITAN is configured to selec the appropriate
‘Method, Settings, and Display.

Step 4
Apply the nse ofthe analyzer tothe sample (the nose must remain in contact wth
the sample during the entire assy). The armed LED (see Step 1) wil ight yellow to
show thatthe IR proximity sensor is covered (required for Xray to be generated).
Pull the trigger to begin analysis,

3: Xerays are generated during this time.
‘When satisfied with the results, release the trigger to stop the analysis.WARNING ——

Incase of emergency, or if your analyzer is lost, stolen, or damaged,
immediately contact Bruker at (800) 466-5323 or (509) 783-9850
and notify the appropriate regulatory and law enforcement agencies
in your state or country.
PRECAUTIONS
+ Donotallow anyone other than trained and certified personnel to operate
theSt TITAN,
+e aware ofthe direction that the X-rays travelwhen the redlampis on and
avoid placing any prt of your body (especialy the eyes or hands) near the
examination area during measurement.
+ Never hold a sample tothe window for analysis by hand; hold the window to
the sample.
+ TheIR proximity sensor located on the nose is designed to prevent the
emission ofX raysin theabsence of an object. Do not attempt to defeat this
important safety feature a it ay result in unnecessary exposure to the
operator.
Pregnant women whose the S1 TITAN should be aware that improper
handing or improper use ofthe instrument could resutin radiation
exposure which may be harmfulto a developing fetus.
if requtedby a regulatory agency, wear an appropriate dosimeter when
‘operating the SI TITAN,
+The operators responsible forthe security ofthe analyzer. When in use,
the device shouldbe inthe operator's possesion atall times.
+ Always store the instrument ina secure location when notin use. Do nat
share passwords with those not qualified to operate the device.
