KUGON

1. OPENING SCENE
A girl wearing a uniform walking on the roadway beside the rice
field.

2.1 INT. HOUSE – BEDROOM - DAWN

Lita(24) and her husband Arman(25) were awakened at three in the
morning by a constant knocking at their door.

UNKNOWN (o.c)
(knocking)

2.2 She sat up and rubbed her eyes.

LITA (o.s)
(Annoyed)
“Kinsa kaha ron?”

ARMAN (o.s)
“Pirte nang gabiuna, unsa kahay tuyo ana”

2.3 Slowly, Lita banged the wall of her sister's room, which is
next to her.

LITA (o.s)
(Shouted)
“Ne! Ne!”
 NENE (o.c)
“Oh ngano man”

LITA (o.s)
“Tan awa ragud didto kinsay nangayo”

2.4 Lita heard the front door open and tried to hear the brief
talk, but she was unable to do so because of how totally silent
it was. A commotion in the kitchen was heard after a little
while.

3.1 INT. HOUSE – KITCHEN – DAWN

When Lita sneaked into the kitchen, she discovered Nene working
on something.
LITA (o.s)
(hands on her chest)
“Oh, unsa daw tuyo ato?”

NENE (o.s)
(Mahinhin)
“Ay te, naay babae nga nangayog tubig ug pan”

LITA (o.s)
(Annoyed)
 “Kinsa may mangayo ug tubig ug pan nga hasta namang ka ngitngit sa
gabie!?! Kinsa man to?”

NENE (o.s)
“Wala ko kaila te, naka uniform man to nga babae. Naluoy gani ko kay
naka tiniil ra sya. Hastang lapoka sa iyang tiil”

3.2 While Lita watched her, Nene passed Lita while carrying a
platter with bread and water.

4.1 INT. HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – FRONT DOOR – DAWN

To allow the person inside, Nene opened the door. A girl in a
high school uniform appeared at the door.

NENE (o.s)
“Sulod te, dara oh pag kaon”

4.2 The girl was given the tray by Nene, who handed it to her.
The girl received it gratefully and bent her head in
appreciation. She then sat down on the closest chair and started
to eat. Lita, who was coming from the kitchen, approached them
and paused before turning to look at the girl from top to
bottom, noticing how dirty her feet were.
 LITA (o.s)
(kum-ot ang nawong)
“Asa deay ka gikan gang na kadlawon naman? Ka hugaw sa imong tiil”

4.3 Lita was further confused since the girl did not respond and
continued eating as if she had not heard the question. She felt
horrible for the girl after observing how she ate. She checked
the girl's ID, then Lita called her husband.

LITA (o.s)
“Arman! Arman!”

4.4 Arman got out of their room while scratching his head

ARMAN (o.s)
“Oh ngano man?”

LITA (o.s)
“Ihatod sa ni siya kaw, kadlawon na basin ma unsa panis dalan”

5.1 EXT. HOUSE – ROADSIDE – DAWN

The girl sat next to Arman as he turned on the tricycle. Arman
glanced at the girl while he was preparing the engine.

ARMAN (o.s)
(he asked)
“Asa man tika ihatod gang?”

5.2 THE GIRL WEARING A UNIFORM (o.s)

(with a cold voice)
“Sa KUGON”
6.1 EXT. ROAD – TRICYCLE – DAWN
Arman's mind was debating whether the girl uttered KUGON or
PUGON as he was driving. He re-asked the girl.

ARMAN (o.s)
“Unsa man jud gang? PUGON ni or KUGON?”

6.2 However, the girl vanished when Arman turned his head to
look at her.

6.3 Arman halted the vehicle and searched the area for the girl,
but he was unable to locate her.

6.4 He waited for an drunk man he saw walking far away and then
went up to him and asked.

6.ARMAN (o.s)
“Maayong gabie, nakakita ka ug babae diri niagi?

DRUNK OLD GUY (o.s)

(HUBOG NGA TINGOG)
“Wala baya dong. Ngano deay?”

ARMAN (o.s)
“Magpahatod unta syas KUGON, nawala man ug kalit”

DRUNK OLD GUY (o.s)

(Shooked)
“KUGON? Nga abandonadong cemeteryo manas Linoan!?! Ay kog binuangi
dong!”
 6.5 Arman was left standing there in disbelief after hearing
what the intoxicated old man shouted as he resumed his stroll.
As the reality of KUGON began to seep in, he had chills. He
instantly started his tricycle.

6.6 While the tricycle ran, the drunk guy saw the girl wearing a
uniform. The drunk guy was startled and immediately walked as
fast as he could.

7. EXT. FACADE OF THE HOUSE – MORNING

Lita was taking care of her own thing while cleaning up the
ground-covered leaves. All of a sudden, a little boy called.

TEEN BOY (o.s)

“Te Lita! Schedule nimo unya sa dayong kay nay namatay Te, anak ni
ankol Dodong”

LITA (o.s)
“Hala! Kinsa nga anak ni Dodong?”

TEEN BOY (o.s)

“Ay te, tung kinamaguwangan daw te. Tung nag skwela sa Nabunturan”

LITA (o.s)
“Sige sige loy, muadto rako unya”

As the boy was leaving, her husband Arman arrived and turned the
tricycle off.
8.1 EXT. FACADE OF THE HOUSE – GATE - MORNING
Arman approached his wife and questioned her.

ARMAN (o.s)
(asking)
“Oh! Unsay tuyo atong Loyloy”

LITA (o.s)
(still holding her broom)
“Ay magserbisyo daw unya sa dayong. Unya na hatod nimo ang
dalagita”

ARMAN (o.s)
“BUANG MAN GURO TUNG BAYHANA TO, NAWALA MAG KALIT”

8.2 Arman continued speaking as he sat down in the nearby chair.

ARMAN (o.s)
(annoyed)
“Ana siya sa KUGON daw nya karaan man deay na nga sementeryo sa
Linoan”

Lita's expression was confused as she looked her husband.

9. ROADSIDE – POST NIGHT
When Lita and her companion started walking to the wake, it was
already dark. She asked her friend a ton of questions about the
deceased.

LITA (o.s)
(chikadora)
“Kinamaguwangan ni Dodong ang namatay? Tung nag skwela sa
nabunturan?”

LITA’S FRIEND (o.s)

(turned to her, still continued to walk)
“Mao gani! Hastang luoya, gi rape daw. Nakit an ra ang lawas sa
kilid sa dalan sa may linoan”

LITA (o.s)
“LINOAN!? Ka layo ba ana”

LITA’S FRIEND (o.s)

“Nah! Maghimo dawg project sa may linoan nya wa naman daw
kabalik ug duha ka adlaw ana iyang ka boardmate. ”

LITA (o.s)
(shooked her head)
“Mao lagi problema anang pasagdan mu adtog layo ba!”

LITA’S FRIEND (o.s)

“GANI! Wala say kaluoy tung nang lugos, gi patay sad!”

CUT TO:
 The drunk guy arrived at his home, he was confused because
suddenly he felt a wind blew at him when the windows and doors
are closed. He suddenly hear someone whispering at his ear.

GIRL WEARING A UNIFORM (o.c)

(whisper)
“Pagmahay sa imong gi buhat animala ka”
“Wala kay kaluoy sa akoa”(WITH CRY)
“Dapat ikaw nalang ang namatay”

*Voice of the girl will be mixed with her yell when she was
raped*

The drunk guy will act like he is crazy while holding his head.

LITA (o.s)
“Unya nadakpan?”

LITA’S FRIEND (o.s)

“Nakonsenya guro, ni surrender man”

As soon as they arrived at the wake, they put an end to their

chit-chat and paid their respects.

10.1 PLACE OF THE WAKE – DOOR – NIGHT

 Lita looked around the wake as she and her friend paid their
respects to the deceased's relatives. She entered the living
room and moved in the direction of Dodong, who was still sobbing
on the sofa.
LITA (o.s)
(respectfully)
“Condolence Kuya Dodong”

10.2 Lita was startled by what she saw when she turned to face
the coffin. Lita recognized the girl in the image in some way.

11.1 PLACE OF THE WAKE – LIVING ROOM – COOFFIN – NIGHT

Lita was somewhat confused as she approached the casket since
the person inside seemed familiar. She seemed pretty acquainted
even though she hadn't yet met Dodong's oldest child.
She suddenly understood that the girl in the uniform who had
knocked on their door at early was the one who was in the
casket.

11.2 When she looked at the door after getting an unsettling

feeling, she saw the same woman standing there and looking at
her, WHILE SMILING.
