INTRODUCTION

What is Temperature?

Temperature is a physical quantity that expresses a degree of hotness or coldness in a substance. It

can be measured with the use of a Thermometer and its units are Celsius, Kelvin and Fahrenheit.

What is Rate of Reaction?

The Rate of Reaction is defined as the rate of which the reactants of a chemical rection form the
products. The Rate of Reaction is expressed as concentration per unit time.

How does Temperature affect the Rate of Reaction?

When you increase the temperature, you give the particles more heat energy meaning there will be
more kinetic energy. This means that they will move faster, making the particles collide more
frequently than if they were cooler. More collisions means that there will be an increase to the
higher number of successful collisions. More heat energy also means that there’s more energy for
the actual reaction itself to happen.
