Context and background of the project: We live in an increasingly digital world which is shaping the way

we communicate, work, learn, and take part in society. As educators we have a responsibility to ensure
our students have the proficiency, competences and attitudes necessary to be successful in a
contemporary, digital society. Being digitally competent is more than being able to use the latest smart
phone or computer software — it is about being able to use such digital technologies in a critical,
collaborative and creative way. (The European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens). According
to ELINET one in five 15-year-olds lacks basic literacy skills. Not only does this make it difficult for them
to find a job, it also increases their risk of poverty and social exclusion, limiting opportunities for cultural
and civil participation, lifelong learning and personal growth. Literacy standards and digital competences
in all participating schools have not been met. This project is aimed at allowing partner schools to
develop and reinforce networks, increase their capacity to operate at transnational level, share and
confront ideas, practices and methods in order to overcome problems and deficiencies in their teaching
processes (especially in the use of ICT and literacy). Each partner school is striving to integrate new
technologies and tools in their purposeful framework.
Objectives of the project: students will: further develop their English fluency, feel more competent in
utilizing ICT resources, develop confidence in literacy skills (reading, writing, communication), use
technology more safely, use digital tools to record and edit videos, create a song in English, participate
in singing competitions, create presentation about peer learning, teach each others about their cultures
and traditional values, record traditional stories to share on the website, create a storyboard telling their
story about European citizen, present their storyboard using technology, learn traditional folk dances
from participating schools’ countries, create useful Padlets, ThingLink and Prezi maps on safe Internet
surfing, join up with their parents to test their knowledge on role of information and communication
technologies, write eCards to their friends from participating schools, test their knowledge through
Kahoot quiz, take photos and write articles and upload them on website and Twinspace, participate in
online classes, have online debates with their peers. Teachers will: receive training in ICT and Literacy,
use a common approach to Literacy activities, develop confidence in ICT and Literacy, incorporate
learning beyond the project, share different approaches to ICT, literacy and parental inclusion in school
life, become part and be supported by the This is how we share movement founded by Daniela
Tomašovičová, guide their students to successfully fulfill their project activities, develop stronger bond
with parents and local community, and complete a questionnaire to ascertain their competence and
confidence in inclusion, ICT and Literacy.

Activities: Teachers will: regularly meet on Twinspace to prepare project activities and discuss goals’
achievement, celebrate the International Day of Education with parents and students, have staff
meeting to disseminate mobility results, organize workshops and presentations for peer teaching
(English fluency, digital competence, literacy, flipped classroom, problem-solving, parental inclusion,
eTwinning role in education), create pools and surveys to measure the results, visit each other classes
during the visits to compare and adopt different methodologies and create a common approach to ICT
and Literacy activities, regularly meet up with, encourage and carry out joint eTwinning projects, create
joint lesson plans, create a project website, upload project activities on schools’ and project website,
disseminate project results continually during and after the project completion to teachers, parents and
local community in the activities planned in December 2020, January, April, June, September, November
of 2021, March and June of 2022. Students will: exchange pen pal cards on eTwinning, create a video
with their teachers about their schools, celebrate the International Day of Education with their teachers
and parents, engage in eTwinning mini-projects started by their teachers (“This is my classroom”, "What
tool is this?", “Tell a story to a friend “, “Video editing”, „#SaferInternet4U“), learn traditional dances,
write stories, create a storyboard, participate in workshops designed to develop their digital
competences and literacy skills, participate in sports activities, participate in singing competitions,
record a song in English, edit the video to prepare it for karaoke competition, participate in peer
teaching activities, create a short video about the visits to disseminate results of the visit, participate in
the peer debate and evaluate project activities. 5200 KARAKTERA – SKRATITI NA MIN 4000
Non-teaching staff will help in managing budget, deal will invitations, printing, provide support in
organizing activities and listen to dissemination activities. Parents will participate is social events during
the visits, debate with teachers on problems-solving, take part in workshops organized to raise the
awareness of importance of ICT and literacy, pair up with their children to participate in the quiz,
complete evaluation sheets.
Methodology to be used: we will use individual, groups, and whole class activities, CPD opportunities
(workshops, presentations and trainings from teachers of participating schools), online communication
(Twinspace, Zoom, website, Facebook, etc) , use of modern technology (e.g. iPads, notebooks,
smartboards, etc) and tools/platform (e.g. Prezi, Flipsnack, Padlet, eTwinning etc), collaborative
approach- both oral and written work between countries, use ICT and literacy in different classes (eg.
English, STEM, IT, Art, etc) and create e.g. story books, videos, cards etc.
Project participation represents a long-term improvement of schools’ development. By obtaining new
perspectives on digital and literacy learning it will help each school to improve the students´ learning
strategies and the teachers´ teaching tools. Furthermore, the students will learn to deal with different
intercultural situations at school and benefit in their future working life. Students and teachers acquire
knowledge on how to deal with new technologies and tools sensibly and responsibly and how to adapt
the learning settings for optimal student motivation. By conducting the project in English the students
from Slovakia and Serbia improve their language skills. In addition, they will use eTwinning in their
regular classes to promote better learning opportunities. Parents will become aware that developing
digital competencies, literacy and English skills will greatly benefits their children in further education
and job finding.The results of the workshops and the complete project are shared with the not-project-
members through different workshops and presentations and media (radio, TV, Facebook, project
website), social events during the visits and workshops in the libraries. The project partners would like
to stay in contact with each other in order to share strategies and experiences.

The expected long-term benefits are based on our students’ awareness of the importance of life-long
learning and development, problem-solving in real-life situations and constant self-learning. As far as
our schools are concerned, we expect to improve our digital competencies and change our visibility in
local, national and European levels. Schools integrate new technologies and tools in their purposeful
framework.
