SCHOOL PROFILE
The Tapi National High School is located at Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental. It
is approximately 30 kilometers away from the City of Kabankalan and the division office. It is located
along the Provincial Road, invitingly placed on top of a hill which was leveled, thus, creating an
overlooking ambiance. It is accessible to all types of vehicles and could be reached by communication
either through a one-way radio or cellular phone.
The school campus has a total land area of 33,931 square meters and it is owned by the
Barangay. It is unmarked in the Approved Survey Plan No. Blk. 3-CSD-06-001979 as Tapi National High
School.
The school started from its humble beginning in 1962, as the oldest Public High School in
Kabankalan City. Its first enrolment is only 24 students, and its first graduates is only 9.
The terrain of the school is irregular. Despite of its irregular terrain, the school buildings are
symmetrically arranged and well – maintained. It Implements different government and DEPED thrusts
and programs through integration in the curriculum like the Nutrition program, energy conservation,
environmental preservation through clean and green and solid waste management program.
With the implementation of K to 12 Basic Curriculum, the school gives its ultimate support to
the full implementation of the said curriculum to students. Different learning techniques and
innovations were made by teachers to make learning more enjoyable to the students.
The school has a total of 64 teachers, 46 Junior High School and 18 for Senior High School and 4
non-teaching personnel who are nationally funded to mold the 1,714 students. This school is managed
by a school principal Dr. Julius S. Ongalon.
The school has 34 classrooms, 1 as Principal’s office, 1 for Faculty room, Library, and 1 classroom
is converted as office of the ancillary services and accounting office, and 1 computer laboratory room.
At Present, the school has a total of eight (8) newly built buildings – 1 unit (3) storey with 12
classrooms building occupied by the Grades 11 and 12, 1 unit (2) storey with 6 classrooms occupied by
the Grade 8 level, 1 unit (2) storey with 8 classrooms occupied by the Grades 9 and 10, 1 unit (2) storey
Science laboratory, 1 unit (2) storey ICT Laboratory, 1 unit (1) storey for EIM laboratory, 1 unit (2) storey
working laboratory and 1 unit (3) storey regular laboratory.
