Many people think that if you want to be successful in
business, you need to beat the competition.

According to the Blue Ocean Strategy, that is not a good


BLUE OCEAN approach to starting a business.
STRATEGY
Competition means the existence of an established market
and your solution in that case would be to “outperform” the
competition. In other terms, adopting a “red ocean strategy”

In today’s world, especially because
of technology and the wide access
to information, it has become easier
than ever to get into a market and
saturate it.

When a market is saturated, the only


way to succeed in this market is to
“fight” over market share and turning
this market (ocean) into a bloody
fight. Hence the term “Red Ocean
Strategy”
BLUE OCEAN
 Instead of having this bloody
battle, you should try to sail
beyond this red ocean, in search
for blue waters.. “huge market
potential without competition” so
you would increase your chances
of success and profitability

 As an entrepreneur, you should


look for new market segments,
where the last thing you would
have to worry about would be
fierce competition.
