Cheers to new semester!

Hello! Are you ready to learn and experience how to


create an indigenous craft? Let’s go and unlock new skill!

The journey in this pandemic has been tough yet you made it.
As you start exploring through this module, I hope you enjoy it. In this
module, you will learn the brief overview of the Philippine Indigenous
Crafts.

This module is designed to analyze and appreciate Philippine Arts


and Crafts, craftsmanship and its different forms. It will give the
students the chance to showcase their talent as well as enjoy creating
indigenous crafts. The module will tackle about Filipino craftsman,
story of their crafts, background and materials in creating indigenous
crafts. At the end, students are expected to appreciate the importance
of crafts, create hand-made crafts using indigenous materials or from
local sources and develop initiative to promote and conserve Philippine
indigenous creative crafts.

As you will come to know of these indigenous creative craft be


ready to become your most creative self for you will be creating your

Summary

This module focuses on the study of indigenous materials in the country


and the processes in converting it into various kinds of creative crafts. It
includes the classification of the woods, kinds of rattan, fibers, origin and
size of leather, bamboo craft, seashell, coconut shells and metal crafts.
This module emphasizes the common hand tools and procedure in making
the creative crafts. It also provides the information’s of the different
products and projects that can be made from these raw materials.
