    The outbreak of powdery mildew was observed infesting Raphanus raphanistrum in and around Shambu, Horro district western Ethiopia. Based on morpphological characters and pathogenicity test, and the pathogen was identified as Erysiphe cruciferum. The susceptibility of R. raphanistrum to powdery mildew disease my, therefore, this fungus can be utilized as classical biological control of wild radish, prior the fungus could be tested not affecting other crops.
