PROGRAM PROFILE
You will need to complete the following components to describe the program you would like to be recognized.

Title Project “GAD-ML” (Gender and Development - Mobile Learning)


Rationale 300-350 minimum words

In line with Project NEB-GAS CARES and consistent with its commitment to
ensure the upskilling and reskilling of its personnel, DepEd Regional Office No. 2
through the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) in close coordination with
the Regional Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) shall conduct Gender and
Development Training dubbed as “Lingkod GADthering on Wheels” with the theme, “Cultivating
Gender Sensitivity and Equality Amidst Individual Diversity”.

This is in consonance with the policy of the Department to continuously provide


learning and development opportunities to its personnel to further enhance their
competencies and capabilities required by their position and office mandate and to be
able to adapt to the new normal of working, brought about by the pandemic (D.O. 40, s.
2020).

Pursuant to Section C of DepEd Order 32, s. 2017, DepEd through the appropriate and relevant
units shall conduct capacity building for all employees on GRBE and in handling gender issues and
concerns, integrate gender in all learning and development programs and interventions, and ensure that
programs that inculcate and sustain the department core values, respond to employees’ varied needs,
and promote employees’ physical, mental, psychological, social and spiritual well-being are gender-
responsive.

Today, workplaces require people from different backgrounds to work together in


high performing teams and pressure-packed situations caused by the pandemic. This
Lingkod GADthering on Wheels will tackle how the post-pandemic transition affects us and
how we can respond to it as a team. Each member of the team needs to be able to relate
effectively to other team members who may have different beliefs, communication styles,
educational levels, cultural backgrounds, and gender identities.

The post-pandemic transition brings about various changes in the workplace. The
various worries and fears that we anticipate in the so-called “new normal” are corollary to
this. Stress happens whenever there are changes or transitions in our works. Our response to
these life changes and fears is vital as we face the new normal. Adaptability is one crucial
skill that personnel should develop to thrive and flourish amidst the changes of the new
normal. Coping with the post-pandemic transition while ensuring gender responsiveness will
also be discussed, together with various self-care strategies.

The participants to this activity shall be the top management, supervisors, and all other
personnel of DepEd Regional Office 2. It shall be a 3-day activity exclusive of travel dates within the
area of Manila.

Program/Course
Description This project is a 3-day mobile learning with the theme, “Cultivating Gender Sensitivity and Equality
Amidst Individual Diversity”. It shall employ activities that are gender-sensitive which generally aim to
provide opportunities for DepEd Regional Office 2 employees to personally identify, reflect and resolve
issues and concerns relative to post-pandemic transitions and gender responsiveness of their individual
roles and responsibilities.

By the end of this Program, participants shall be able to refresh their physical, mental, psychological,
social, and spiritual well-being after the long period of not exposed to the outside world of their working
zones due to lock downs and the earlier stated health restrictions.

Specifically, participants are expected to:


1. identify, reflect, and identify ways to resolve the issues and concerns relative to gender-
responsiveness from their respective workstations with the end goal of creating an enabling
employee welfare in DepEd Regional Office 2 proper;
2. tackle post-pandemic transition, its effects, and coping mechanisms as transport activity towards a
gradual return to normality.
3. learn, unlearn, relearn, and reflect on strategic adaptability and various self-care strategies.
