Private vs.

Public Universities
Point-by-point Organization

1. Introduction:

a. Hook: There are still many doubts about which university is better if public or
private ones. After seeing their differences, will you still think the same? Many
people have diverse opinions about those kinds of universities, and this could
be because their parents or people they know tell them their opinions and
preferences, so they create an idea with that base.

b. Background information: Many people think that in public universities students

complete their degrees and have an assured future, but that's not entirely true,
it depends a lot on the students, as well as the opportunities that the university
offers you. By receiving pensions from students, private universities offer them
more services of different quality, such as workshops, exchanges, trips, work
experiences, etc.

c. Thesis statement: Both kinds of universities are good, but there are some
differences like costs, infrastructure, and class size. Studying at a private
university can bring you more benefits in terms of infrastructure, class size, and
services, but you can find similar things and enjoy them in public ones. Many
students prefer to study at public universities because there is this myth that
people who graduate from a public university have more job opportunities and
almost an assured future. However, this is not entirely true, so currently we can
see the positive and negative points of both types of universities.

1. Body:

a. Costs:
1. Public universities: You have to pay for the entrance exams and
enrollment fee.
2. Private universities: You have to pay for the entrance exam, the
enrollment fee, and monthly tuition.
b. Infrastructure:

0. Public universities: The campus is usually larger and older. There

is not much technology or devices to use. You can access a big
community kitchen and free food.
1. Private universities: The campus is smaller and much more
modern. You have cafeterias and recreational areas to relax or
eat.
c. Class size:

0. Public: Classes are usually large with 70-100 students.

1. Private: Classes are smaller with 20-30 students.

There are still many doubts about which university is better, public or private.
After seeing their differences, will you still think the same? First, many people
think that in public universities students complete their degrees and have an
assured future, but that's not entirely true, it depends a lot on the students, as
well as the opportunities that the university offers you. By receiving pensions
from students, private universities offer them more services of different quality,
such as workshops, exchanges, trips, work experiences, etc. Both kinds of
universities are good, but studying at a private university can bring you more
benefits in terms of infrastructure, class size, and services.

First, in private universities, the infrastructure and designs are more careful.
Many people say that it’s more comfortable to study in a university where the
halls are adequate, the seats are comfortable enough to spend a lot of time,
have special classrooms to study or to take virtual classes, and have the
implements for laboratories, for example. All this and more, a private university
gives you, due to the monthly fee it receives from students, but in public ones,
students must settle for often precarious classrooms and very uncomfortable
chairs.

Secondly, about class size, there is a big difference between private and public
universities. In private universities, the capacity of the classrooms varies
depending on the classroom, the average is between 20-30 students. On the
other hand, in the public ones, since there are more students, the classrooms
must be filled and there can be up to 100 students in a classroom, which makes
it difficult for many students to learn.

Finally, private universities offer you more services, such as the gym, sports
spaces, and recreational spaces, where you can relax after classes or hang out
with friends, either to talk or to study, you can have large cafeterias and buy
what you want. In contrast, in public ones, they offer you general food, you can’t
choose since it’s free, but similarly, you can buy it in other places in the
university like in the private ones.
