AEROPLANE PERFORMANCE
OPERATING LIMITATIONS

2.3.1 General

2.3.1.1 An aeroplane shall be operated:

a) in compliance with the terms of its airworthiness certificate or equivalent


approved document;
b) within the operating limitations prescribed by the certificating authority of the
State of Registry; and
c) if applicable, within the mass limitations imposed by compliance with the
applicable noise certification Standards in Annex 16, Volume I, unless
otherwise authorized in exceptional circumstances for a certain aerodrome or a
runway where there is no noise disturbance problem, by the competent
authority of the State in which the aerodrome is situated.

2.3.1.2 Placards, listings, instrument markings, or combinations thereof, containing


those operating limitations prescribed by the certificating authority of the State
of Registry for visual presentation, shall be displayed in the aeroplane.

2.3.1.3 The pilot-in-command shall determine that aeroplane performance will permit
the take-off and departure to be carried out safely.
