Context of the opportunity

Willing to improve its operational performance, both Sectors Environment & Industry created a common
organization, named SERM (Shared Execution Resources & Methodology). It mainly aims to improve the
project execution, develop synergies between Sector Entities, generate scale of economy and optimize
resources. The SERM is supported by 5 pillars: Engineering, Procurement, Project Management (PM),
Claim & Contracting and PMO. As a key function, the Schedule Management is part of the PM pillar.

Currently 14 entities are coordinated by the SERM. Most of them are located in China, India, Hungary,
Finland, Germany, France, Belgium and USA.

Nature and scope of the mission

At sectors level, manages the following activities for the global business:

o Develops and promotes standardized planning methods and tools

o Proposes and implements standardized planning solutions and best practices

o Participates in the administration of planning tools (Microsoft Projet Online), BI tools

o Develops planning solutions by integrating new technological means in collaboration with the IT
Business Partner and the PMO of the sector

o Ensures a technological watch and benchmark in its field of expertise

o Animates the community of Project / Company schedulers (hiring, coaching, training,


assessment,…)

o Develops training tooling (classroom, webinar, business case,…)

At project level, coordinates with entities and projects teams the following activities.

Strategy

o Defines with the project team the most suitable planning structure to ensure an effective
follow-up of the project

o Lists and sequences all activities according to WBS and durations (standard or estimated)
o Under the responsibility of the project manager, analyzes and challenges the schedules
(Supplier, Customer, Internal). Defines and feeds the corresponding indicators.

o Participates in the elaboration of the proofs of delays/non-delays in the litigation process with
our suppliers/customers.

o Supports the project team during dispute meetings on deadlines with the customer or suppliers

o Evaluates current processes and recommends changes to improve planning efficiency

Operations:

o Collects and analyzes information used to plan projects

o Lists and sequences all activities according to WBS and durations (standard or estimated)

o Identifies and includes external interfaces (Customers, Suppliers,...)

o Implements progress update rituals through the various departments involved in the project

o Generates forecasts, backlog reports and advances, and any other useful documentation to
track and manage projects

o Analyzes the critical path, highlights delays and suggests options to reduce risks

o Verifies schedule consistency with delivery dates

o Identifies and resolves issues that lead to scheduling errors

o Analyzes the impact of a change request

o Challenges the organization to control and reduce delays

Profile

o Master's degree in Project Management, Business Management, or in a related field

o You have minimum 5 years’ experience in project scheduling in an industrial environment,

o Certification as a PMI scheduling professional (PMI-SP) or Project Manager Professonal (PMP)


will be an advantage.

o Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software (ideally MS Projects).

o Extensive experience in schedule planning and management.

o In-depth knowledge of the scope of projects within similar industrial projects.

o Advanced ability to evaluate project progress and facilitate interventions.

o Ability to keep stakeholders informed of project timelines and changes.

o Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.

o Fluent in English (strong written, verbal, and proven presentation), French is a plus.
The position is based at the Seraing headquarters in Belgium. He / She must be available for temporary
missions, sometimes on short notice, including international travel.
