Willing to improve its operational performance, both Sectors Environment & Industry created a common
organization, named SERM (Shared Execution Resources & Methodology). It mainly aims to improve the
project execution, develop synergies between Sector Entities, generate scale of economy and optimize
resources. The SERM is supported by 5 pillars: Engineering, Procurement, Project Management (PM),
Claim & Contracting and PMO. As a key function, the Schedule Management is part of the PM pillar.
Currently 14 entities are coordinated by the SERM. Most of them are located in China, India, Hungary,
Finland, Germany, France, Belgium and USA.
At sectors level, manages the following activities for the global business:
o Develops planning solutions by integrating new technological means in collaboration with the IT
Business Partner and the PMO of the sector
At project level, coordinates with entities and projects teams the following activities.
Strategy
o Defines with the project team the most suitable planning structure to ensure an effective
follow-up of the project
o Lists and sequences all activities according to WBS and durations (standard or estimated)
o Under the responsibility of the project manager, analyzes and challenges the schedules
(Supplier, Customer, Internal). Defines and feeds the corresponding indicators.
o Participates in the elaboration of the proofs of delays/non-delays in the litigation process with
our suppliers/customers.
o Supports the project team during dispute meetings on deadlines with the customer or suppliers
Operations:
o Lists and sequences all activities according to WBS and durations (standard or estimated)
o Implements progress update rituals through the various departments involved in the project
o Generates forecasts, backlog reports and advances, and any other useful documentation to
track and manage projects
o Analyzes the critical path, highlights delays and suggests options to reduce risks
Profile
o Fluent in English (strong written, verbal, and proven presentation), French is a plus.
The position is based at the Seraing headquarters in Belgium. He / She must be available for temporary
missions, sometimes on short notice, including international travel.
