DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY & SEQUENCE OF WORK

INSTALLATION OF THE CEILING PENDANTS SECOND FIX ASSEMBLY UNITS FOR THE TWIN PENDANTS,
MULTI - MOVEMENT PENDANTS FOR THE ICU, OPERATING THEATRE’S AND CCU AREAS.

ACTIVITIES

1) Delivery of the items on pallets to site on a suitably sized vehicle c/w tail lift.
2) Offloading of pallets using hydraulic pallet trucks.
3) Transporting by hydraulic pallet trucks to the correct levels and rooms for installation.
4) Positioning the units.
5) Fixing the units to the pre-installed First Fix assemblies.

SEQUENCE OF WORK

1) Site induction of all staff. This is to include information on signing on and off site, site hazards, how warnings are signalled and what
action is to be taken in the event of an alarm, location of First Aids and equipment .
2) Review of the method statement by all staff involved in the work. The method statement is to be signed when understood and
agreed by all staff.
3) Liase with the site supervisor and agree unloading area
4) Offload the tools, access platform, second fix assembly and portable lifting jack and transported to dedicated floors.
5) Erect the access platform and ladders to a suitable working height and inspect.
6) Inspect the portable lifting jack and ensure in order.
7) Secure the second fix assembly to the portable lifting jack and lift / manoeuvre in to position.
8) Secure the second fix assembly to the slab and the first fix assembly using the fixings specified . Fig: M-8000-SF-01

a. PENDANT ARM INSTALLATION:

i. Insert 6 nos M16 stud.
ii. Insert 6 nos 25mm GI pipe.
iii. Insert pendant down tube.
iv. Tighten all 6 nos M16 nut to pendant down tube.

b. PENDANT SERVICE COLUMN INSTALLATION:

i. Connect pendant tube and service column to pendant arm.
ii. Fix the related M&E services and accessories to pendant service column.

9) Pendant services arrangement as shown in Fig: M-8000-SF-02.

10) Release the assembly from the portable lifting jack and lower the lifting forks.
11) Complete the assembly of the pendant covers etc.
12) On completion return the tooling, platform, portable lifting jack and pallet truck to the ground floor.
13) Have the consultant main con inspect the work and sign the site work report sheet.
