ACT REVIEW ENGLISH, MATH, READING/SCIENCE (for students taking the ACT exam during the Fall, 2011)

LOCATION: ALL CLASSES ARE HELD AT: KVCTC; 1701 FIFTH AVENUE (SUITE 142); CHARLESTON, WV 25387 FOR STUDENTS PREPARING TO TAKE THE ACT EXAM ON SEPT. 10 OR OCT. 22, 2011: ACT REVIEW: ALL 4 SUBJECTS IN ONE WEEK AUG. 8-12; 2011 10:00AM 12NOON AND 1:00-3:00PM DAILY REGISTRATION FEE: $120 (INCLUDES ALL MATERIALS); TOTAL HOURS OF INSTRUCTION: 20 HOURS FOR STUDENTS PREPARING TO TAKE THE ACT EXAM ON DEC. 10, 2011: REGISTRATION FEE FOR EACH OF THE ACT REVIEW CLASSES LISTED BELOW: $45 (INCLUDES ALL MATERIALS) ACT REVIEW: ENGLISH ACT REVIEW: MATH ACT REVIEW: READING/SCIENCE Nov. 8, 15, 29; Dec. 6, 2011 5:007:00pm (8 hours of instruction) Nov. 9, 16, 30; Dec. 7, 2011 5:007:00pm (8 hours of instruction) Nov. 10, 17; Dec. 1, 8, 2011 5:007:00pm (8 hours of instruction) ACT Review classes are designed to help students develop their test taking skills and improve their scores on the ACT exam. Actual sample test questions will be used and test-taking techniques and strategies for answering questions will be covered. These classes are valuable for students needing a review program to meet entrance-level requirements for colleges, entrance-level requirements for special programs of study, and scholarship eligibility levelsincluding the Promise Scholarships. All sessions will be taught by an experienced ACT Review instructor noted for assisting students in attaining results.
Registration: Registration is established upon receipt of the class fee. Classes must have a minimum of ten students. A waiting list will be established when classes are full. Additional sections will be added if sufficient interest. Students will be notified if workshops are cancelled due to insufficient enrollment and full refunds will be made. Cancellations due to weather conditions occur only when Kanawha Valley Community and Technical College classes are cancelled. Listen to local radio and television stations for such announcements. We will also attempt to call students whenever possible in these situations.

1. Go straight on Pennsylvania Ave. (toward river); 2. Turn right (west) onto Kanawha Blvd.; travel 1.2 miles on Kanawha Boulevard to where it ends; 3. Get in the right lane; follow signs for WV Rte. 25; 4. Merge onto Patrick St., get into the left lane; follow arrows for Rte. 25; 5. Continue with directions below:

From I-64 East: Montrose Exit (#56)


1. Turn right at stop light onto Montrose Drive (towards US 60 E); Cross over the interstate; 2. Turn right onto MacCorkle Avenue at 2nd light onto US 60 East; 3. Follow Rte. 60 E across the Patrick St. Bridge; 4. Follow arrows to WV Rte. 25;

5. Continue with directions below:

6. Turn left onto 7th Avenue (follow arrows to Rte. 25); 7. Turn left onto Iowa Street (left turn lane at stop light); get in the right lane; travel approximately 1 block and 8. Keep left onto 5th Avenue (at Charleston Cut Flowers); 9. Turn right into the Schoenbaum Family Enrichment Centers parking lot (immediately past the Airgas facility)
