The effect is not only limited to adults, teens are more severely

affected by the usage of social media. Almost all of them prefer to

play online games rather than going out and playing games that
include physical activity. All this facilitates laziness and these
children have zero social interaction. They are lacking important
social cues. They have active virtual life but their real social life is
on ventilator. A commissioned survey from Kamik uncovers that
children now spend 45% less time playing outside with their
friends.
It is said ‘All that glitters is not gold.’ We feel emotionally secured
with the friends on social media right? But what I think is that
virtual world and virtual people provide a false sense of emotional
security.
Emoji as a proxy to real life emotions.
It can even make people antisocial. We listen about the rumors or
fake news spread on whatsapp or facebook which leads to conflicts
between different section of the community.
If any personal argument is raised then say- I think you don’t know
what debate actually is. Debate needs to be generalized. It is not
just about me or you. We have to give general examples.
U know what some of the most brilliant minds in the world have
dedicated their lives in making social media more and more
addictive.
It is their job to find more ways to keep you hooked up on their
apps or sites.
I fail to understand why my opponent feels…
I fully agree with the views expressed by…….
If it is about advantages and disadvantages then taking example of
a medicine that has advantage that it will treat cancer but will
make you paralyzed. What foolish thing you are asking.
Can my worthy opponents deny this fact of digital detoxification
gaining a lot of popularity in the recent years. Many surveys were
conducted to find out the reason of practicing digital detoxification.
Results showed that people wanted to cut off from social media
hence chose digital detoxification.
Social media is of six types-
 Media sharing
 Social networking
 Blogging
 Bookmarking
 Social news
 Forum sites

I see your point but…..

I am afraid I can’t quite agree with your point…..
Slacktivism- The practice of supporting a political or a social cause
by using social media. Let me explain you this, suppose you are
scrolling on Instagram and a post about swach bharat abhiyan pops
up on your screen. What will you do with that? Let me tell u that
you’ll hit a like on that post and share it on your Instagram but have
you that how many are actually impacted because of that post? A
survey conducted by CBC news highlights that 67% of the people
admitted that they shared that post just for formality purpose. I
don’t know where we are leading to.
People just hit the like and share button rather than actively
engaging in campaigns in real life.
I agree that people chat and get connected. This makes them
addicted to chatting. They keep on waiting for someone to turn up
and start chatting with them but they never realize the fact that
there are people waiting for them waiting outside their virtual
world.
I am amazed by the views expressed by my opponent. They said
that they can connect with many people and form a stronger bond
with them? Ohhh really? There is a contradiction let me prove you
wrong. Ok for a moment let’s assume that you get connected to
your friends online. Each one of you start sharing your ‘life’ on
social media. Now let me tell you one interesting thing that one day
you all will start comparing yourself with each other. According to
Morsel India almost 52% of people using social media get trapped
in social comparison habits. It is quite natural that this comparison
will generate the feeling of jealousy which will ultimately lead to
envy among you and your friends. And I hope now I have said
enough to prove you wrong.
Summing up I would say that the consequences of social media in
our daily life needs to be examined little more in depth so that we
can understand how much is too much and how much is enough.
At last I would like to say that ‘Let’s disconnect to connect.’
