TOOL(S) \ PRODUCT(S) AFFECTED: JobSite Radio 49-24-0200
49-24-0200 JobSite Radio is now considered a fully repairable accessory, see Service Parts List Bulletin 54-49-0160,
54-49-0161, 54-49-0162 and Wiring Instructions 58-01-0162.
As fully serviceable the JobSite Radio is to be repaired, replacing components as necessary versus being replaced as
a whole unit. A warranty claim for a complete JobSite Radio will be denied.
SAFETY NOTE: before opening the radio, disconnect all power sources [120V cord or DC Battery Pack and the
two AA batteries located in the bottom of the unit; used to power clock and radio presets] and turn ‘ON’
the power knob momentarily to discharge any stored energy.
BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING —
Radio operates on DC but not on AC:
o plug cord into 120VAC and use voltmeter to check for DC Voltage of 15-22 VDC
output from Transformer Assembly leads, #14 - Red and #15 – Black of the
Speaker PCB Assembly connections, see Wiring Instructions 58-01-0162
o if no voltage is present, replace Transformer Assembly 23-81-0545
o if voltage is present, continue with ‘All Other Electrical Issues’
All Other Electrical Issues:
o disconnect LCD Assembly leads #11, #13 & #20 from Speaker PCB Assembly
o plug a new LCD Assembly 22-09-1575 into the Speaker PCB Assembly board
and check for proper operation
o if radio works, replace the original LCD Assembly; if radio still does not function,
replace the Speaker PCB Assembly 22-09-1546 or Volume Control Switch

To verify the quality of the repair and insure its electrical safety perform a Dielectric (insulation
breakdown) test; applying 3000V between both current carrying prongs of the cord-set and
each of the four screws illustrated.
a) turn radio volume control knob to the ‘ON’ position
b) attach return lead clip of dielectric tester across both current carrying prongs of the cord-set
c) touch each of the four screw as illustrated for a minimum of 1 second each
